My lowest point in all my years of following Clemson football. I was in a dove field listening to FSU destroy what little was left of a once great program. 57 - 0 and it wasn't even that close. Max Lennon had succeeded in fulfilling John Swofford's dream, the destruction of Clemson football through his lackies, ken Hatfield and Bobby Robinson. But I digress.

What makes me think of 1993 when I look at the Chickens now, is the utter feeling of hopelessness I felt in the dove field that day. Not that their little 3 year run of 11 wins is anywhere near equal to what we had from 78 to 91, but its as high as they ever thought about getting. And now, they're seeing it all go away. I remember thinking I didn't know what was worse, watching our program go down the tubes, or the feeling of knowing it was not a one year fix. That we were in for years of losing while we tried to rebuild. What makes their situation almost worse, is the irony that instead of outsiders tearing their program apart, their own coach and staff, the very one that gave them their little "run at greatness", is the same coach and staff that through poor coaching and lack of recruiting, are letting it all slip away. What is it they say about far worse to have had money and lost it, then to never had it at all.

And its got to hurt even more , watching our program ascend. I'm enjoying this.
