Here's what I believe we will see going forward after the mid-terms. It struck me during the POTUS press conference that the left is very angry. They cannot believe that Trump is still bigger than Hollywood, Left-wing globalist billionaires, Oprah and Taylor Swift. It was obvious the media is not happy with the election results. Also, The Deep State and current leftist in House and Senate are having a hissy fit already over Sessions' resignation. The Interim AG, is now in control of the Mueller investigation; not Rosenstein. Admittedly, I thought this would happen before the elections; not after. We've seen Shumer, Pelosi, Eric Holder and Brennan already screaming that new guy, Matt Whitaker MUST recuse himself. What are they scared of? What are Rosenstein and the Dems in Congress trying to protect by obfuscating the release of the FISA documents and other documents that are directly related to the whole Russia Collusion Hoax?
They will frame their dismay as trying to protect Mueller. I don't believe that Whitaker will fire anyone. I do believe that Whitaker, now in charge of Rosenstein, will force the release all of the documents; un-redacted. Why would would anyone who believes in transparency in government be opposed to this? Isn't that what we all want; to know the truth?
So, when you hear shills like Shumer screaming about a Constitutional crisis. There isn't one.
I do believe, and this is just my opinion, that alt-left organizers are preparing to riot in the streets over this. I guess we'll find out.

This was the biggest midterm loss for republicans since Watergate when all races, including statewide, are counted. The new house of representatives will be in charge of the Mueller investigation if the new political hack acting AG interferes with Mueller. Trump will learn the meaning of subpoena power in January when the House subpoenas his tax records. Don't be surprised by anything that is discovered because the POTUS is a totally amoral person.

1. So, the Repubs are in worse shape than Obama's 64 in house and 8 in Senate losses in 2010, or Clinton's losses in '94?
2. The House is not in charge of the Mueller investigation. Rosenstein has been until yesterday. If you're referring to House Intelligence committee, Odds are that the new Dem led Committee will just shut down the House investigation as they do not want the truth to come forth regarding docs.
Also, you don't seem to realize that the Senate can simply take over what the House Repubs were doing; with their own committees and the Senate has more clout in these things than does the House.
3. I agree that the dems will do nothing but attack Trump with their new control of the House. I hope they do attack his tax returns as that has nothing to do with anything. I laugh at people who don't understand that if he did anything funky with his taxes, the IRS would have already busted his ass over it. He gets audited every year.
4. Matt Whitaker is not a hack. Look him up. Don't be surprised when most of Obama's people; Comey, Brennan, Clapper and others are facing sedition charges.
Trump is going to make all these people look like fools. Funny thing is, uninformed, msm believing sheep can't even see it coming.

Orange, reading comprehension is not your strong suit. I said it was the worst "republican" loss since watergate. Your comparisons are to democratic losses. You know apples vs oranges.
If the new hack acting AG interferes with Mueller the House will subpoena Mueller's records and can hire him to lead their investigation and there is nothing the Senate or the A-hole in chief can do about it. When the A-hole's tax records become public records then the sh#t will hit the fan and you, among others will learn how you have been conned by this effing crook. The A-hole's conduct during yesterday's press conference was truly embarassing.
Please let me know when the sedition charges are filed. I will be waiting on the edge of my seat.

The A-hole at the presser was Jim Acosta, and I agree it was embarrassing.
Since you seem to know so much about Trump's tax returns, why don't you enlighten me on what sh!t is gonna be hitting the fan. I'll hang up and listen.
When the declass documents come out into the light of day, we can just go straight to impeachment, right? So, why is Trump and the house repubs wanting to expose the info and Rosenstein, with vocal support of the dems, trying to keep the info suppressed? Here's another thing. Dems are already screaming that Whitaker needs to recuse himself. Rosenstein is a potential witness with Comey firing and also had to sign at least one of the FISA applications, yet he has has not recused himself! How does that work?

When the soviet union was alive and well it had a government run news agency called "Tass". The fringe right has a government run news agency called "Fox". There are some other right wing copy cats mostly on talk radio. Elvis, when you quit getting your "facts" from those sources, perhaps you can have an intelligent conversation with someone. Other you just spew the latest administration propaganda.
What is going to hit the fan from his tax returns is his financial connections to Russia and other enemies of our country. Why do you think he has not released them?
Believe it or not I am not in favor of impeachment because I do not know the contents of Mueller's investigation, nor do you. When that is learned we can all reach our on conclusions.
Jeffrey Beauregard Sessions got in bed with a dog when he first endorsed the A-hole and he has now reaped the results. So I do not pity him. If you think that Whitaker shouldn't recuse himself by saying publicly that the Mueller probe was improper before he knew any of the underlying facts, that's your prerogative. I simply disagree. Your facts on Rosenstein are after he took charge of the investigation. Of course he has been involved in the details of the investigation.

I'm gonna need some links for the illegal financial ties to Russia. If you think that trying to build a hotel in Moscow is illegal, then you are clueless.
Actually, I'd like to know where you're getting your facts, since you seem to think you know where I get mine. You're wrong by the way.
You seem to think to Fox is a gov't run propaganda machine, yet the other networks are the ones full of ex Clinton admin. and Obama admin people. Interesting.
What I'm spewing are facts that have come straight out of Committee testimonyfrom people like Lisa Page, Bruce Ohr, Andrew McCabe, Glen Simpson and others. Michael Steele also gave testimony in GB under oath. There is record of that. The fact that Carter Page has not been charged with anything and is all over tv, (evidently on networks you deem as propaganda) and planning on filing lawsuits against your government. This speaks volumes to logical thinking people who aren't blinded by raw emotion. Pappadopoulos was given a 2 week sentence for simple misstatements? He now wants to retract his plea deal? Yet we are to believe that the government had all of this info on Trump associates making deals with Russians to steal the election?
No, my friend, you're the one that's been lied to; by an alt-left wing propaganda machine also known as the msm. As soon as declass is approved and the documents, emails, texts and phone records are released, that's when the sh!t hits the fan. That's also why Trump doesn't have to fire anyone. The truth is in the documents and there's only one side that is desperately trying to conceal them.

Nice analysis! I agree!

I did not say his financial ties and obligations to Russia are illegal. I just believe they will explain why the A-hole kisses Putin's ass at every opportunity. As for unemployment and the economy, those numbers are a continuation of what occurred during 8 years of Obama. If you need me to post the numbers I will.
I was a Econ major and believe the deficit and national debt are huge issues. During a thriving economy your boy is running up record numbers. What happens during the next recession when the tax receipts fall further? If you need the numbers on the debt and deficit and how they are tied to the tax cut I will be glad to post.
I understand why people voted for Trump given the horrible choice. I can't understand how they still . support the lying piece of sh*t. I own a fairly large company and we wouldn't hire him for our lowest level job because he is an untrustworthy compulsive liar and a racist. We have had plenty of presidents that I did not vote for and did not support. I have never questioned their integrity. Trump has none and he will run the Republican party into the ditch which is a shame because we need a strong 2 party system where voters have choices.

@Woody1405 you sound very angry. The economy is great, the market has had a great run, taxes are down, unemployment is super low. Things are pretty good.
Easy to accomplish all these things when you finance them with foreign debt. Or do you have a different explanation for how Trump increased spending and cut taxes at the same time? Not fiscally conservative by any definition.

He financed jobs and the stock market with foreign debt?

Taxes needed to come down but I agree we need to reduce spending.

Yes, who do you think is buying all the treasury bonds he used to offset the tax cuts and increase spending. Jobs and the market are downstream effects, but they are real.

Would love to cut spending dramatically. Problem is so many people don’t even cover their cost. I think a family of 4 needs to pay around $30K per year in taxes to cover their fair share. I hope people who don’t even cover their portion don’t complain about the rates on those of us who do.

@Rychek4 @Woody1405 , what Rychek4 just described in cutting taxes and increasing spending IS the media's beloved BIPARTISANSHIP! Bipartisanship is hard to achieve in the current environment where the goals are so opposite in nature that there is only a little bit they can do. Trump signed the omnibus bill for a number of reasons, but the main one was he had to do it or the democrats would have scuttled it with a filibuster. This is what happened to Reagan also. He created record tax revenues, but spending outpaced it.

The government needs to reduce spending and Trump knows this. There is going to be some hard medicine that will have to be administered at some point and its just a matter of time to when it will occur. Trump would go a very long way toward eliminating deficits if he had a line item veto and/or a solid advantange in both houses of congress. We know that unfortunately will not be the case for the next 2 years, so the outlook in this regard is not good for near future.

Regarding Obama deserving any credit for this current economy...........LOLo_Oo_O:rolleyes::rolleyes::D:D:confused::confused: That is so far out there, that I honestly cannot even see how democrats and hardcore Obama lovers can believe it honestly. I think Woody1405 is just posturing when stating this...LOL.

My biggest goal for the next 2 years is for Trump to get the wall built and cut spending. Oh wait,,,,,,I also want him to lock up some of the commie scumbags currently running the streets too.

TigerGrowls, facts are stubborn things. One of the biggest threats to our democracy is that the two sides won't agree on the facts. This economy is a continuum of 8 years of Obama. Do a Google search of unemployment rates by the year. You will see that the rate topped out at 10% in 2009, the first year of Obama's presidency. It then fell every year down to near the present rate. On the growth of the economy under Obama do a Google search of GDP growth by year. You will see that except for 2009, GDP grew every year of Obama's presidency. Three of the eight years it grew at a faster rate than it has under Trump.
If you do this 5 minutes worth of work and come to different conclusion, let me know.

@Woody1405 thanks for coming back with a discussion point. I really appreciate discussion of opposing viewpoints.

Here is an interesting article comparing Obama to Trump and the author hits Trump and Obama in the article at points, but I think points out that the Trump policies overall are much better for business and economic growth than the Obama policies.
https://www.hoover.org/research/not-obamas-economy

We both could find mainstream articles stating that Obama's economy was as good or better than Trump's and vice versa. Trump has still only been in office around 2 years and the full story is still to be told. A lot of stuff in motion and results to be seen.

Obama played with basically interest free money his entire 8 years in office. Interest rates have already risen under Trump which is a back handed compliment from the fed. They only raise rates when the economy is doing well. Time will tell.

I would LOVE to see what goes into that number.

How much of that $30K affects me? Because if a lot of it doesn't then we may be getting to the core of the problem. Too much spending. Too much government.

I was but a wee lad when Clinton was in office but as I recall, that was one complaint about his administration. The fed never raised interest rates and the economy ran rampant. But when it slowed back down and they needed to cut interest rates, there was no room.

That said - I am sure the problem is much more complicated than that.

Totally agree. I cost the government a heck of a lot less than $30K and I contribute a heck of a lot more.

We spend about $1.6 trillion out of $4 trillion on SS and Medicare. Since those have their own revenue streams (even though we supplement medicare), exclude those for now. Corporate taxes make up about $225 billion.

That leaves about $2.2 trillion spread across pre-retirement Americans.

There are about 280 million Americans below age 65.

$2.2T / 280M = $7,857. For a family of four, that's a shared burden of $31,429.

If you aren't even paying your portion, it's hard to take seriously any claim that someone else should pay more.

Makes some sense. Now how much of that could we eliminate? THAT is the real question.

Off the top of my head - one thing I like about Trump is that he is insisting that the rest of NATO and the UN pay their fair share.

I would start with taking a look at Military spending just because it's such a large portion. Then again, with fund accounting it's almost impossible to reward efficiency gains in public spending.

@TigerGrowls I also enjoy a fact based discussion with others. I and many others think that this uninterrupted recovery started with Obama and is continuing with Trump. Trump has fueled this recovery with a tax cut that is exploding the deficit by about 2 trillion over 10 years according to the congressional budget office. This deficit is structural (built in) not one caused by a recession or increased military spending caused by a war. Additionally his trade war is idiotic and badly hurts companies in SC like BMW, Boeing, and Volvo.

That would be the first place I'd look. Try to be more efficient (but to your point that can be hard to reward).

And sometimes the $5 Billion gizmo doesn't work, or needs change between the time it was commissioned and the time it was finished. It sucks, but that's how it is. Especially with lead times that exceed the term lengthes of most politicians.

See the SLS project from NASA as the perfect example of this.
