Payton Page

--Freshman-year he wouldn’t have made it two yards on his pick-six.

--Initially thought someone was behind him, but when he looked forward, he realized he had 60 yards to go. Gave credit to his teammates for blocking.

--Said all the work he’s put in showed on that play. He read the screen well, which set him up for the opportunity to pick it off.

--He made sure nobody forgot that he blocked well on offense too when Barrett Carter rushed in for the TD.

--After the pick his teammates were “hype” on the sidelines, but he couldn’t celebrate much because he was exhausted.

Antonio Williams

--With it being rivalry week, he knows he didn’t get to play in it last year, so he’s trying to keep his emotions in check and just play his game. Staying off social media helps him block out the noise.

--Tonight was a good game that helped the team find their flow. They didn’t punt all game, and the Citadel couldn’t stop them. Said it was nice seeing the older guys make memories on Senior Day.

--Acknowledged South Carolina is just an obstacle in their path to the playoffs. Recalled the tough loss two years ago and emphasized taking all the work since then and playing his best game.

--Said Payton will never stop talking about his play, and neither will Barrett Carter with his touchdown. Everyone was just having fun, and he’s happy they could send the seniors out on a high note.

Jay Haynes

--Enjoyed seeing everyone in the RB room contribute and rack up yards.

--It’s a great confidence boost when older teammates praise you, but proving yourself on the field feels even better.

--He stressed the importance of staying motivated and ready because injuries can create unexpected opportunities. When Phil is in, he’s always watching and learning, but staying prepared.

--On his 70-yard run, he saw the hole open, made the safety miss, and it was green grass from there.

--Said it was awesome to see Payton Page score the touchdown. He actually praised Payton’s ball skills getting up to come down with it.

Barrett Carter

--Told Swinney when he decided to return that he wanted to score an offensive touchdown. Always joked with Riley that he could be a running back, and tonight brought back memories of scoring in high school.

--Called the touchdown one of his top five moments at Clemson but hopes to make more memories before he leaves.

--He though Payton was going to get hawked on the pick-six but gave him lots of credit for taking it all the way.

--Acknowledged some disappointments in his performance every game, saying there’s always room for improvement. Felt the team did a lot of “ugly stuff” but was happy with the win and ready to move forward.

--They struggled with gap and eye discipline, not focusing on the little things, which needs to improve for next week.

--Mindset for the rivalry game is unchanged: play fast, play free, play physical. He doesn’t look ahead when preparing; when it’s Carolina week, it’s Carolina week. They take every game one week at a time

--Reflecting on Senior Day, he wasn’t sure if he would cry at the top of the hill. Took the moment to embrace it, realizing how quickly time has passed.

--Praised Avieon Terrell’s play to stop the touchdown and strip the ball, comparing it to Nate Wiggins’ moment last year. Said it showed Terrell’s heart and passion, which he sees every day.

--Recalled the loss two years ago that knocked them out of playoff contention, calling it a tough moment. But he stressed the importance of focusing on the present and finishing strong with a win in the valley.
