Birmingham (Ala.) Jackson-Olin four-star linebacker LaVonta Bentley tells me he has finalized plans now to visit Clemson on Friday.
That is expected to preclude Bentley from visiting Ole Miss on Saturday, particularly if Bentley and his coach spend the night Friday as planned.
Bentley is rated fifth nationally among inside linebacker prospects, according to Rivals.com.
Bentley (6-0, 215), ranked No. 151 nationally by Rivals.com, visited Clemson for its junior day in early March.
He then returned to campus later in the month for a more extended look at the program.
Defensive coordinator Brent Venables and area recruiter Todd Bates have continued to push here as Alabama has slow-played his offer.
LSU offered last month and is penciled in for a visit later this month, while Auburn has also been involved.
But like we've framed, it's moving month for Clemson's recruiting class, and this figures to be a busy couple of weeks as the Tigers gain clarity at a number of positions.
