I don’t follow the statistics nor want to spend a bunch of time doing it

However I have family involved in a smaller private school in South Carolina and we were talking this weekend

The enrollment at the school literally doubled this year and they said that was all over the entire Southeast where parents are objecting to CRT and attacking parents along with disagreeing with the Covid mandates

Said there is huge dissatisfaction with present school board leadership in public schools

What are you folks seeing

My 2 boys go to a private Christian school for all of the reasons listed.

Academics are pushed, and we’re rolling with straight A’s, in tough curriculum.

On average, there’s 3 teachers per classroom, and 16-18 students per classroom. Also, they do not put up with class distractions.

It’s the way to go.

That's fine for folks who can afford it. I agree that this is the way to go, but some of us can't afford it. What are the rest of us supposed to do?

I'm actually lucky enough to live in a district where we don't deal with CRT, or obvious nonsense. What about other folks who deal with this crap every day?

My advice is go to school board meetings and express yourself civilly along with writing letters to the newspaper

Get a parent group started

Speak out for your kids

Like I said, I don't really need to. We live in one of the greatest school districts on the face of the planet IMO.

I want to help folks in other districts. Many can't afford to pay for private school. I can't.

It's been a major sacrifice for us but we've done it anyway. Even when we had to use debt to do it. Worth all the sacrifice too. But you're right. So many can't and that is really sad. People should be able to choose. In a truly free country they would be able to. A government should never have control over how its citizens are educated.

It’s been mixed here, but we live in a great area. My oldest graduated from what most consider the “best” preschool/kindergarten last year that is also a feeder school for porter gaud (where my wife went). We decided to enroll him in public 1st grade. His elementary school is fantastic and the neighborhoods it pulls from would indicate the parents have their shit together. He already has local buddies in his class and we know nearly half the parents. Cost wasn’t a major factor in the decision - we believed this was the best option for a variety of reasons.

OTOH, we elected not to send our youngest to that same private preschool and instead sent him to a Christian school. The previous school flexed some liberal tendencies during COVID and also required you to agree to have your 2-5 year old vaccinated should they require it (and their approach up to that point indicated they would). There were some other contributing factors as well.

So the youngest is somewhere else, and it’s great. When the head of school said something along the lines of, “We’re still sanitizing, deep cleaning and doing extra hygiene to avoid cold/flu/COVID,” rather than make a big deal about this newest cold/flu variant, it felt like home. It’s also a great all around environment for a 2-4 year old. He will likely follow his brother to public elementary school.

The Charleston market may also be quite different than some others, particularly given the rapid influx of people moving here. Mt. Pleasant has great public schools relative to many areas of SC. And the private schools pull another level of wealth that raises concerns about entitlement and just growing up in an even greater bubble than ours will already be in. Factors working against the private option in our view.

i have spoken to people in southern and northern (and Midwest) states, and many are opting to move their kids into private school. I have never once heard anybody say anything about CRT (given, most people I know are educated). It is all about not getting wanting shit downs and masks in the future.

That’s a factor here too. Though after being able to view shutdown vs no shutdowns in hindsight, I don’t think conservative SC will take those measures outside of an extreme situation. Places like NY and DC though? Yea, I’d have my kids in private school.

SHIT DOWNS

I may interpret that as shut downs LOL

But the original words may be more appropriate

That's because CRT is a fake controversy used as a political cudgel. This is the real threat to our children. Holy sh*t.

CRT infuriates a huge amount of parents along trying to normalize and coach behavior that is outside what the parents want for their children

Did a quick internet search across a lot of engines and the private school enrollment is surging and parental inputs against indoctrination of childrn has huge amounts of parents now woke against the woke

You might miss with me but when you miss with my children you are missing with the wrong thing

Especially my impressionable young children

I talk with my 8 year old grandson on politics and even at that age he recognizes that socialism and fake news is bad

Have you told him about fascism and what really constitutes fake news? Like fake culture war issues that a political party drums up because they can't get traction with abortion with no exceptions, permit-less open carry and making it harder to vote because they believe in lies?

Id send my kids to private school if my wife would let me. The school board in Denver is an absolute disaster and they seem to only care about proving to the world how woke they are. They don't care about the kids and my 4 year is old being assigned homework because nobody has updated the pedagogy or curriculum in forever. It's a disaster and is absolutely going to fail my children.

Good evening Iceheart08

I know we sometimes hook horns but I am going to suggest something that I think if you approach with an open mind you might find it an interesting path for your child as our children are our most precious treasure thst the Lord blesses us with

Get and read a copy of the book Agency by Ian V Rowe

It is a book on picking a path in life to overcome being a victim and become the champion

I am personally working on multiple programs in my retirement to improve my community through many inititives

The world with all the wokeness and everyone preaching and teaching hate has the wrong path for our children

Lets take a deep breath and pick good

The most important thing at 4 years old is get your child reading, reading and more reading

Literacy is the key

And do not allow them to buy into the victim narrative

Have that child buy into the I am going to be s champion

They will thank you one day on your death bed

You are very consistent in that your rambling leave me thinking What in the hell is he talking about.

Generally you lose me after about the third word and I think to myself Maybe one day he will figure out ranting is not the best method of winning people over to your ideas

Ranting seems an appropriate response to your imaginary accusations about CRT, socialism and fake news. Your slavish devotion to the biggest traitor in American history destroys your credibility as well. You've abdicated the moral higher ground gramps, sorry.

Have you considered anger management

You seem to love it when your yam-dyed daddy spends the bulk of every day ranting like an unhinged lunatic. Now you don't like rants?

I am needing a translation of this but like any translation i think will be lost in the translation

Whatever you just communicated please know it did nothing to enlighten or educate me

You can't enlighten someone who believes Trump was a great President and believes that FoxNews is a reliable source of information. You can only mock them because they are lost.

If I had thought about it it, I would have triple spaced the lines and increased the font x 3. 😂
