I was there and it was an EXCRUCIATING slow death as they went down the field dinking and dunking to underneath routes as we rushed 3 every. single. time. I guess my question comes with how do you guys think these plays were called from a coaches perspective? Is it a scenario where this is what Wes thinks we should run to keep everything in front of us or are his play calls a reflection of what Dabo told him in the moment what the play call philosophy should be. I guess what I am trying to ask is do you think Wes had the reigns and he called what he thought best or the head coach told him, listen, I do not want to get beat and I want to play max coverage the entire drive and then Wes implemented it.
To me, what happened was about the last thing you wanted to happen. They take the whole time, go score, and then we have no time left. It seemed to me there, at some point you have to pressure him and the receivers to make a decision and if you get beat, you get beat. You have some time to work with to go win it.
Great crowd there Saturday and had a great time, just wanted to get yall's 2 cents.
