From a fans perspective, we all want to see our OL launch off the ball and push the opposing DL back uncontrollably until they fall down, however, from an OL standpoint, what does winning look like? What needs to happen or an OL to say, "Hey, I got my job done that play!" How far do you need to move someone back before that is a legitimately good play from the OL stand point?
I can't imagine, even against lesser opposition, that blowing everyone off the ball every play is actually what is being looked for or is remotely possible. Is making them take two steps backward a win, not enough? Is not giving up any of your ground a win?
I know this probably varies situationally, but I would like to hear from those with experience about what winning actually looks like for an OL, run blocking up the middle. Thanks all.
