The update on McDonough (Ga.) Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy offensive tackle Chandler Reeves trumped having a “Camp Insider” this evening. But a few brief nuggets:
***** Fredericksburg (Va.) Chancellor 2017 defensive end Yetur Matos picked up an offer at the end of the day.
Matos (6-4, 230) is the one we mentioned won the early morning eyeball test. Charlotte first offered last week.
***** Olney (Md.) Good Counsel 2017 four-star linebacker offer Jordan Anthony and four-star defensive end offer Josh Paschal visited campus Saturday.
They didn’t work out but toured campus with Anthony’s family.
Anthony (6-1, 215) holds additional offers from Auburn, Michigan, UNC and Maryland among others.
Paschal (6-4, 255) has offers from Ohio State, Virginia, Maryland and Kentucky.
***** One of the highest-profile offensive linemen to come through this week will arrive Sunday.
Mebane (N.C.) Eastern Alamance 2017 four-star guard Jonah Melton will be on campus Sunday morning, although it is unclear how much he will work out because of a nagging injury.
Melton (6-4, 290) has offers from Clemson, South Carolina, UNC, N.C. State, Boston College and others.
***** Richburg (S.C.) Lewisville 2018 defensive tackle Josh Belk competed Saturday.
Belk (6-3, 308) picked up his first offer via South Carolina after its camp Friday, and LSU responded within minutes to get its name in the hat.
Belk did not immediately draw a Clemson offer. But you’ll recall a slew of offers to younger prospect went out after the first session completed.
