I see many posts on here about DHEC and doctors lying about the Covid-19 numbers being high, and I believe that there are definitely cases where that is 100% true. But.....I noticed a while back that SC DHEC new case numbers didn't match up with the daily changing overall number of cases. For example, if you take their reported number of total cases on September 25th (140,056 + 3846 probable = 143,902) and subtract the September 24th total (139,021 + 3686 probable = 142,707) you will find that there were 1195 new cases on September 25th. Yet, SC DHEC reported 687 new cases. This has gone on for quite some time. Going back to Sept. 10-11, they reported 967 new cases, while there actually was 2450 new cases in the total. Maybe there's an explanation but it sure seems fishy!

I could be wrong, but I believe they go back and add cases to the actual day. So for example - if some lab reports 1000 test results one day, but it was over the course of a month or 2 - then they add them to the actual day.

Yeah it’s assigned to the day they were tested .

I also can’t fathom why anyone gives a shit about case numbers . Musc Charleston had 9 hospitalizations 2 of which on a vent as of Monday this past week .

@CU91ENGR cares about cases because it fits his narrative.

Good thing covid will be over in 41 days

My wife’s school has been reporting their numbers to DHEC since the middle of August and they’ve yet to include them. Wouldn’t trust anything being reported by DHEC

People are still tracking the DHEC case numbers? Jameis Christ. It will be ok, OP.

Umm...because it determines whether our kids go to school full time or not! Hospitalizations and deaths are not part of the parameters for whether they go to school or not.

OP desperately trying to find a stat that seems bad, pathetically grasping at straws. Here he is a few months ago:

Let me help you with the math here: 34,200 divided by 35,500,000 = 0.000963. This is equal to 0.096% mortality rate. The coronavirus mortality rate is approximately 4%. I guess I need to help you with this too: this makes Covid-19 41 times more deadly using your stats.

Did not waste my time reading OP’s always liberal BS. Numbers don’t matter anymore. Open the entire country back up 100%.

Actually, I am just pointing out that their daily numbers don't match their total numbers. I'm not the one out trying to fabricate numbers to make this seem like nothing more than the flu.

So all of the new cases reported today were test results from tests taken today? I highly doubt that.

Im a right of center guy. That said, there is literally not one “liberal” thing in his post. He shows numbers and then concludes that they seem fishy. We have all been saying they seem fishy for months. Relax.

Man, if you believe that you really are dumb. It went from "it will be over by Easter", to "it would be over when the summer heat comes", to "it will be over when the election is done". Got news for you...it will be over when we get a vaccine administered to the population or when it has run its course. It's real

Guess what...the rate is still over 3% (994,743/32,832,766). This is based on total deaths divided by total number of confirmed cases.

Yes, there’s a virus. Yes, it’s been politicized. The coverage of it will decrease after the election.

Coverage vs. infections/deaths are two completely different things. This virus will end up killing over 250k in one year

You honestly believe that 200k Americans have died because of Covid? They may have had it while they died, but there’s a 0% chance 200k died because of having Covid.

Actually, it very well could have been more. Just look at the reports from the doctors/scientists discussing the excess deaths this year likely meaning more have died from Covid than are being accounted for.
