To provide for the licensing of firearm and ammunition possession and the registration of firearms, and to prohibit the possession of certain ammunition.

Universal background checks, licensing, registration and mandatory psych evals. Also illegal to own any standard capacity magazine.

I would be extremely unhappy with it. Lets see how far it gets.

This may be the bill I saw something about last week on social media.

It's a violation of our 2nd Amendment rights. Now you have to go see a head doctor to get a gun. They will check your twitter to see if you accepted the results of the election use that to deny. Let's just go ahead and do the civil war thing.

BTW

I've been psychologically tested. Had to get that for my work. I passed.

It won't get far at all. It goes too far for most moderates like myself. I would like to see some common sense gun legislation, and for the record, I am a gun owner and have a CWP. It's too easy to get a gun too quickly.

I do wish we did a better job taking illegal guns off of the street, but it is pretty factual that compared to other civilized western countries we have a serious gun violence issue.

The statistics on gun violence don't really line up with a "gun problem" when you consider how many are in circulation. A vast majority of gun deaths are suicide, with the next largest category being police shootings and then accidental discharge. What is left over is mostly in the inner cities of more impoverished communities like STL, Detroit, and Baltimore. Gun violence is merely a symptom of a greater problem in those areas.

I don't think we have a gun violence problem in this country.

AS if telling people you are a gun owner and have a CWP helps make your argument that we need more gun laws.

I have a CWP and I'm a gun owner. We shouldn't need a CWP to carry. What more do you want?

The purpose of the 2nd Amendment was for the people to have the means to defend themselves against a Tyrant like Maduro or KAMALA or AOC if they ever get the power. Not to hunt deer or defend ourselves against a home intruder. I have multiple Glocks for that and a rifle.

Machine guns are already banned. They won't let us have those. What more do you want?

Tanks are banned. They won't let us own our own tank. What more do you want?

We can't buy F-16 fighter jets. They won't let us own our own jets. What more do you want?

AOC would readily nuke SC in a heartbeat. They won't let us own our own nukes. What more do you want?

Instead of complaining about what little rights we as citizens have for owning guns, why don't you focus on why the Federal Government owns so many weapons?

Most gun violence is related to the business end of selling cocaine and heroine when a drug king pin loses his connect after the DEA stops a major shipment. That's when the robbing takes place. Blacks have owned that business since the 30s and it really took off in the 70s with heroin then cocaine in 79. The 60s riots forced the white people to move out of the ghettos of Harlem, Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens. Same for Detroit, Chicago, DC, Philly and LA. What happened next was the War on Drugs.

Gun Violence is driven by prohibition by several magnitudes over anything else.

There are so many documentaries coming out now that most of the king pins from the 80s and 90s are talking

If you notice, the people making these documentary films are socialists but I watch them to gain insight into the war on drugs. From a libertarian standpoint, these documentaries are gold. We no longer need to refer back to the years of prohibition of alcohol to make a case for legalization. We have a plethora of new information coming from the drug king pins of the 70-90s who are out of prison and doing interviews.

I love me some Oversimplified. I wish they would put more content out.

Agree 100% this Bill is dead on arrival in the Senate as it should be.

Agree with the post, but lets not call it a civil war. That is what the left is pushing. I see it more as Revolutionary War 2.0
