Both have been media darlings since the beginning of the season, with a number of espn guys picking Stanford to make it to theplayoff even after their early season loss to NW. Have to say, having watched Stanford the last two weeks, they are playing like a playoff team. That said, looking at Stanford and ND's remaining schedule, there aren't many potential losses for either of them. To maximize Clemson's chances for the playoff, I think we need:
- ND to lose this weekend to USC and then win out, finishing the season as a top 15 team with 2 losses, including a win over Stanford; and
- Stanford win all remaining games, except for the ND game, giving them two losses as well.
