I did a little number crunching in order to see how the ACC teams were trending with their recruiting efforts. I also added in two of our SEC 2014 opponents at the bottom. The first parentheses column is the 2014 final Rivals recruiting rankings out of the FBS. The second column is the recruiting ranking average from years 2010 to 2014. The third column is from years 2005 to 2009. The average for (2010 to 2014) was used to put the teams into order of recruiting from best to worst.

………………………..…(2014)..…(2010-2014)…….(2005-2009)

1….Florida State……(4)……….…...(6.4)…………….....(8.4)

2….Clemson………….(13)……..….(13.6)……………….(19.4)

3….Miami…….……….(12)……….…(18.6)………………(12.0)

4….Virginia Tech…..(25)………....(25.2)………………(23.2)

5….North Carolina…(23)………….(30.8)……………..(26.4)

6….Virginia…….………(40)………...(37.4)……………..(35.4)

7….Louisville….………(46)……….…(43.4)……………..(50.4)

8….Pittsburgh…….….(44)………….(43.6)……………..(32.0)

9….NC State……….….(30)………….(50.2)……………..(42.6)

10..Georgia Tech…..(48)……….…(54.8)………………(47.0)

11..Boston College..(42)………….(55.8)………………(47.0)

12..Wake Forest….…(58)………….(65.0)………………(70.2)

13..Duke…………………(58)…………(65.4)………………(59.2)

14..Syracuse……………(52)…………(69.2)……………….(64.4)

So Carolina…………..…(16)…………(18.6).………………(17.4)

Georgia……………………(7)………….(10.2)..………………(7.2)

I did a little more number crunching to see how the ACC and SEC recruiting were doing with a split analysis. I wanted to see first what each team ranked during the 2002 to 2007 ( 6 years ) and then what the teams averaged from 2008 to 2014 ( 7 years ). I took each of those two averages and then subtracted them. That allowed me to come up with how these teams have improved or slipped over those two designated time frame areas. We can look at Alabama for example ? From 2002 to 2007 Alabama averaged finishing 22.2 in the Rivals Recruiting Rankings. Their 2008 to 2014 average finish rankings was 1.6. Therefore 22.2 minus 1.6 equals a 20.6 difference of improvement. Teams in the red are descending or having worse recruiting for the 2008 to 2014 time frame in comparison to their 2002 ? 2007 recruiting average . Good to see that Clemson is one of the double-digit improvers in their recruiting. Clemson' 2002 ? 2007 average was 31.7 while the 2008 ? 2014 was 16.7 average finish.

Alabama……………..20.6

Vandy………………….16.3

Clemson………………15.0

Kentucky……………..14.2

Wake Forest………..12.4

Duke…………………….7.9

Ole Miss……………….7.6

Virginia Tech………..7.4

Texas A&M…………..5.4

Louisville………………3.9

Missouri……………….2.6

North Carolina……..2.4

Florida State………..2.1

Florida………………….1.7

LSU……………………….1.2

Auburn…………………0.3

So Carolina…………..-0.3

Miss State……………-1.4

Georgia Tech……….-2.1

Georgia………………..-2.8

Pittsburgh……………-3.2

Arkansas……………..-4.4

Tennessee…………..-5.5

Miami………………….-6.6

Virginia………………..-14.3

NC State………………-14.5

Boston College……-17.4

Syracuse………………-22.6
