Tell it like it is.

"The federal government is not going to do it," Uvalde's mayor said

Officials from Texas border counties on Tuesday declared an "invasion" at the Southern Border in an effort to bring attention to the issue and urge Republican Gov. Greg Abbott to make a similar declaration.
Judges, mayors, and county leaders from four counties – Goliad, Uvalde, Kinney, and Terrell – three of which border Mexico, held a press conference featuring national figures in Brackettville, Texas.
"This is the first time in American history, today, that... a judge has found as a matter of law that the United States is being invaded," former Department of Homeland Security Deputy Secretary Ken Cuccinelli said.
Texas Republican Rep. Chip Roy asserted that the governor and the state attorney general need to declare an invasion.
Roy listed problems at the border and said, "You're damn right that's an invasion. What else do you call it?"
Uvalde Mayor Don McLaughlin, who has spoken to Just the News previously about his town's struggles at the border, said: "It needs to stop. The federal government is not going to do it. We're not doing these people any favors. We're setting them up for failure. You're turning them loose with nowhere to go, no jobs, and no work permit."
The declaration does not give the officials additional authority and it may not even be legal, the New York Post reported.
However, the officials hope it will wake Americans up to what is happening at the border.
"We’re being invaded. The facts are there," Kinney County Judge Tully Shahan said. "This is real. We want America to know this is real. America doesn’t know what’s happening here."

But Dpic and NY said that it’s not actually happening, so I gotta go with them

another "horde" storming the gates right around election time.

Yeah, it totally just started today
even if this giant caravan of immigrants is true, what's the issue? there's clearly a shortage of workers right now in certain industries, immigrants aren't eligible for unemployment benefits, and even republican and libertarian thinktanks agree that more immigrants is good for the economy and country. so what seems to be your problem?

Paying taxes?

Paying taxes?
they pay sales tax on everything purchased, just no income tax (unless they're documented and gainfully employed)

then again, i ask, if they're undocumented they're not allowed to receive any unemployment benefits, and if they go to the hospital for any reason they run the risk of being deported. so, once again, what's the problem?

Paying income taxes.
okay so your major holdup is that a portion of them are not paying income taxes as undocumented workers. do you have the same problem with food and bev wait staff that are paid $2/hr wages and the bulk of their compensation comes under the table as tips and is most likely not accurately reported?

or maybe your issue is that only 50-75% of undocumented workers actually file taxes using their ITIN which allows them to be pay federal, state, and local taxes including income taxes.

"The IRS estimates that undocumented immigrants pay over $9 billion in withheld payroll taxes annually. Undocumented immigrants also help make the Social Security system more solvent, as they pay into the system but are ineligible to collect benefits upon retiring. In 2010, $12 billion more was collected from Social Security payroll taxes of undocumented workers than were paid out in benefits."

A “fair tax” program would solve everything. You want to spend more?.. you’ll pay more. Fair enough.

So should we just let needy people rob banks as well? Lets just completely ignore our laws. Who is going to be in charge of which laws we ignore and which ones we don't? Sounds like a great long term strategy.

did i ever advocate for open borders? i'm simply saying this is just your standard fear tactic employed by the right every election. i also think we need to keep letting in immigrants, legally, because they are an absolute net positive on our country.

they're here illegally and they'll keep coming in illegally. what's the point in trying to stop it if the criminals will always sneak in illegally? it won't ever stop, so we should let every good guy have an immigrant and that way they can at least fight back.

Sorry, but I don’t believe these statistics.

take it up with the IRS then. it's their data. just because you don't agree with it, doesn't mean it isn't true.

then again this also tracks with you since you seem to think the election was stolen as well, despite all evidence to the contrary.

Many issues!

- ITS ILLEGAL.
- Absolute downward wage impact on American workers in blue collar industries.
- Balkanization of America!
- No cultural assimilation.
- Crime.
- Drugs
- Human trafficking.
- Hundreds of billions of dollars spent by the govt on care and processing of illegals.
- Inflation as more uncontrolled population growth creates more demand for finite supplies of products.

I could go on more but this is more than enough to answer your question.

I am fully in support of an enhanced LEGAL immigration program with expedited path to citizenship.
