Beautiful quote from Dr. King about these two things

"If our nation had done nothing more in its whole history than to create just two documents, its contribution to civilization would be imperishable. The first of these documents is the Declaration of Independence and the other is that which we are here to honor tonight, the Emancipation Proclamation. All tyrants, past, present and future, are powerless to bury the truths in these declarations, no matter how extensive their legions, how vast their power and how malignant their evil."

It is such a shame we can't be inspired by his sacrifice and endeavor to be better in these tumultuous times. Sadly, many in our country are endeavoring the bury the truths of our past in order to forge their version of a future of this faux equity which by its very definition would be impossible to achieve for humanity. Hence its only function is to preserve and increase the power of those who claim to fight in its name.

Long time ago when democrats pushed Jim Crow laws
Tell me more about Strom Thurmond. The actual leader of the dixiecrats turned republican. Who signed the 1964 Civil rights act again? Some Kennedy guy?
