We're "soft" anymore. Earlier this year, I was confused and obviously uninformed on what TE and JS were trying to do with the offense. It's become quite obvious that we're following the stat line that @Cris_Ard brought up before the season. The last 5 National Champions have averaged at least 215 yards a game rushing.
Our Defense was NC caliber last year and the D hasn't been soft for awhile, but the Offense, was still a bit Bowden-esque until now. We are trying to impose our will against every team we face in the run-game and it's awesome to see. CCM would abandon the run, no matter how successful it was. Certain games, like FSU 2 years ago, he didn't even try to run at all.
Credit to Dabo, TE, and JS for changing the mentality of our FB team and offense. BV has already made us werewolves on Defense, now we're playing tough on both sides of the ball. Running for 200+ against ND was a statement. We're averaging around 200 yards a game rushing and I think that will only improve as the season continues. CCM's offense put way too much stress on the QB to run the show, by throwing and throwing deep, a lot.
