I'll mainly stick with the positives from the game last night. Here is what I thought was good.

  • We played a team that is very talented. We played a team that is well coached. We played a team with nothing to lose. We played on the road in a short week. We won. Have a feeling Louisville will be a good team by years end. Petrino is a scumbag but he can coach.
  • #4 played the possibly the worst game we will see him play in a CU uniform and we still won. That's important.
  • 2nd half, Ray and Ray and Deon provided some very solid plays. I have a feeling they are starting to emerge. It was good to see us go to them in pressure situations and they responded. Really need Cain to to emerge and replace Mike Williams. I think Peake is a player, but he is more of a complement guy as opposed to being the main guy. I think Deon has the attitude of being the guy.
  • Cordrea Tankersly stepped up to the challenge tonight. Thought he played very well.
  • Defensive Tackles are very good. If Reader comes back with a chip on his shoulder, then we will be loaded at the tackle spots.
  • Gallman has improved tremendously. He has power and nice burst on the outside.
  • I was worried about Kevin Dodd replacing Corey Crawford. Crawford was vital against the run last year. Last night Dodd reminded of Crawford. That's a good thing.
  • I think our O-line will be okay by years end. Dabo is super positive but it does seem we do have 10 guys that can play. Mav Morris looked decent when he was in. Too bad we couldn't redshirt Fruhmorgen. I think once he puts some good weight/strength on his frame, he will be a beast.

This game was circled as one of our toughest coming into the season. Short week, solid opponent, 1st time on road, etc. We passed the test winning on the road while not playing close to our best ball on offense. I think this young team will learn a lot from this victory. I don't see DeShaun playing this bad again. I also think Scott and Elliot will learn from this game. We have to remember they are growing as well in their new roles.

Now about kick off coverage...
