First of all, I rarely second guess the coaches. Secondly, we won and that's the bottom line.
I haven't seen this posted on any Clemson internet board which surprises me. The call I am referring to was the long pass to Peake with less than a minute in the 3rd quarter. I was incredulous at the time and felt it would bite us in the butt. Why you say?...because we had the momentum, Gallman was gashing their DL, and the clock was running. It was first down I believe, and we could have controlled the ball until about 12 or 13 minutes left in the game with probably at least 3 more points on the board making it 24-3 at that point.
I generally had no issues with the play calling...just that one call. It seemed out of character with what our philosophy in the game was. Hard to believe Dabo was on board with it. Maybe I'm the Lone Ranger here. Anybody else feel the way I do?
Apologies to LW...just caught up with past posts and see where LW made the point I did. Guess I'm in good company![Wink ;) ;)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
And to make it clear, we won, and I'm deliriously happy, but that play swung the momentum to ND, and it could have cost us. Our D is just that doggone good to be able to not allow us to lose in that situation. Ok...rant over.
