Last year we wore out the U of L defense by running them sideline-to-sideline. Backers got tired and Adam Choice owned them on a late drive.
We're in a similar situation this year. No depth at LB. If they wear out Boulware and Goodson, we're in trouble.
And while I appreciate what these two guys bring to the table, there is a clear difference between them and the Anthony-Steward combo (StAnthony, as I called them).
There was one play against App State where the gap between Goodson's and Anthony's athleticism was abundantly clear. Goodson was chasing a guy into the flat, and he wasn't making up much ground. I remember in similar situations last year that I had supreme confidence that Anthony would close in on a ball carrier in the flats. I hope Shaq Smith changes his mind. We need another Anthony-type.
