Back in world war II anyone from Japan was made responsible in some way for the actions of the Japanese empire. We saw the worst men of the station of that with the internment camps we had here. Here we are 70 years later and where trying to exile any one of Russian descent because they may somehow be involved in the actions of Vladimir Putin. It's amazing how empty-headed we are and how little we learn from the lessons of history. We shouldn't be treating people this way. It's wrong in every way.

Agreed, but is there a specific event that is happening? I haven't heard anything about this

?????

Im going to need a link dogg, because I havent seen anything in local, national media, or in casual conversation that would indicate people are doing any such thing.

The closest I have seen to people "boycotting" the Russian Tea Room in NYC, and boycotting Pepsi, Coke, and KFC for not shutting operations in Russia.

Here's one example but there are a lot of them.

Not to mention taking away the ability of Russians to used Visa and MC to buy things is kind of crazy. We're just canceling the existence of anything and everything that's Russian right now. Businesses are renaming over any reference to Russia. It's just a bit crazy.

That is unfortunate for that pianist, especially since he condemned the war on his social media (and I imagine that is scary to do he still has family back in Russia).

Putin is a deranged dictator who personally controls Russia. There is no autocracy anymore, it is all him. We cannot remove him from power without blowing up the world. The only people who can are the Russian people. This whole situation sucks for them. But they need to be the ones to step up and remove him. Unfortunately, they will have to suffer.

I understand that. But here's my worry. Once Putin realizes he's going down no matter what, he's just the type to decide that I'm going to take everyone I can with me at the same time. We have to provide some kind of off-ramp here or we leave him in a place where he's going to be open to doing anything. Additionally, to make pariahs out of the Russian people when it comes from the very governments and people who have empowered Putin to begin with is pretty lame stuff.

I too have only heard about a plan to boycott Russian restaurants in NYC, but on social media I see people being mercilessly attacked for advocating for it. Looks like many more are against a boycott. I think America is getting it right.
