My first thought was does this really bother people? My second thought was the same. Sorry.

The bad part is I can't say for sure I would have "gotten it" if I just saw it on the street.

There’s just no point in the special being worded this way.

Of course there is. Advertisements are supposed to get your attention. Obviously it worked on some people - including you.

So whoever wrote it gets top marks for that.

John, John, John. You know better than this.

I'd be willing to bet that half the folks on here making fun of this were all triggered when Desmond Howard was making fun of Clemson. They think this is funny b/c it's not aimed at something THEY care about. In this case brown refugees. The responses would probably be much different if the happy hour special were say

"Little Donny's Collusion White Russan"
Made with "Lyin' Don's Bankrupt Vodka"
and a squeeze of
Putin "Special Russian Sauce"
pre swallowed by graduates of Trump University.

Now if you laugh at both of these things, the "humor" argument holds water. If not, then you are full or crap (probably fooling yourself more than anyone else).

The statement that humor can be cruel is absolutely true. I'm pretty old and from rural SC. When I was a kid, I heard more than one joke where the folks being made fun of were African American (except the word used to identify them started with the letter N). I think few of us would argue that that shit isn't funny any more, but "back in the day", it was intended that way. That doesn't make it right. Same thing with gay slurs... Humor changes over time. I was flipping channels the other day and flipped past an old "Bewitched". Really old and must have ben from the first season b/c it was black and white. Daren had apparently gotten upset by something and stopped by a bar on the way home from work and got stinking drunk. The scene showed him driving home drunk... front view of him behind the wheel weaving his way home. Out of his back window, you could see the stuff he had hit and the people he ALMOST hit. You know with the shopping carts turned over and dropped packages. The laugh track was going full out the whole time... Humor changes for sure.

I understand. Your panties get in a wad whenever your Dear Leader gets called out (even in jest). You just can't admit it (especially in this context), but you have to defend him somehow right? You should have included a Hillary/Obama reference and maybe a good 'witch hunt' buzz word like a good Trumpian before attacking the messenger though. I give you a C+ for content, but an A for effort.

By the way. Just for future reference. I referred to myself as old more than half way down the post. If you are going to claim you didn't read it, it's probably best if you don't actually reference the content... just saying...
