Top 15 Freshmen - Hyatt
7 OL
Mitch Hyatt, Clemson
Suwanee (Ga.) North Gwinnett | Four-star
The skinny: No. 45 overall, the No. 3 offensive tackle and the No. 5 recruit from Georgia in 2015, Hyatt had little drama during his recruiting process. After taking a return visit to Clemson in late March, Hyatt committed to the Tigers over Ohio State, Georgia and a host of other schools. At Clemson, not only has Hyatt started at tackle for the Tigers as a true freshman, he is also in charge of protecting Deshaun Watson's blind side, which makes his play this season even more impressive.
Farrell's take: Hyatt was a long-time five-star, losing that coveted fifth star at the end of the process because of concerns regarding his ability to fill out his frame and strength in his lower body. As a true freshman starter at left tackle on an undefeated national title contender, he's making that decision look bad and his technique and footwork help him overcome a frame that is still filling out. He seems to get stronger by the game
