yea this stuff has been pretty alarming, seems like every other day its food manufacturers or processors processors exploding or being engulfed in flames and trains carrying hazardous chemicals derailing...the volume seems insane. i have seen references that these things are fairly regular and something like 1000 trains derail regularly and we just never heard much about any of it until it became a focus of social media. in that regard, i don't know what the baseline numbers are on these respective type of events and where recent events stand in a normal distribution. i also never see much follow up on if there is any ability to determine cause of the events. would actually be a fantastic journalistic piece for an enterprising individual to really dig into this if there's a story there. there was also the issue earlier in the year where chickens stopped laying eggs until there feed was changed.
there's definitely cause for concern, how much i'd love to get a better idea of statistically. the biggest thing that does seem like something of a smoking gun is the trains carrying hazardous materials derailing several times. the lack of interest from the global warming wingnuts and disinterest from the admin should be revealing for any doubters how much they genuinely care about the subject. much like gun violence in cities being orders of magnitude greater than anywhere else yet never given any attention for the lives lost or brought up when they politicize other events to demand gun control - it's clear the interest is not genuine. they love to tell us the leading cause of death for children is now firearms - what they don't tell you is that nearly all of those children are lives that don't matter to them. those lives lost to firearms are nearly all kids in cities like chicago and st louis dying in gang related violence, yet never do they appear in those places concerned about guns and definitely not those lives. global warming is a similar issue politically, so multiple catastrophic environmental events being met with zero concern from those who claim it a critically important issue seems telling beyond that they don't actually care, but that there's probably a reason they don't want attention placed on those events.
