Trump just retweeted Trevor!!!!

So what I've gotten out of this thread is:

It should be Lawrence/Rencher 2020, but they want to play football instead so its 2024 at the earliest.

lol at thinking I watch news of any sort. I observe and research, I don’t get my opinions handed to me by political commentary shows that are what now passes as “news”.

And as per your assertion that it is not incumbent on you to do this, it actually is very much so since you made the claim that trump is corrupt. That is how debate/discussion/arguments work... Exactly that way.

Am I being trolled here or just engaging with someone who is not very logical?

Wow this guy is completely unhinged. Avatar checks out.

Finally Trump is associating himself with someone who stands for peaceful protests, social justice, and college players having a voice in what happens to them. Much better than him being very impressed with the "doctor" who believes in demon sperm and alien DNA.

Wow there is a whole lot of nothing in those articles. President Trump doesn’t take his $400k/year salary, instead donating it to various agencies.... but the military has spent $200k since 2017 at Trump properties!!!! lol ridiculousness from a bunch of children.

Also, the president is exempt from the Hatch Act so that’s an absolute nothing burger. The rest are similar in scope. But you’ve got him now! So congrats. I’m sure that the next 4.5 years will be filled with bliss for you now that you and your kind have finally ousted Donald J. Trump from office.

I am sick of silent majority being scared of speaking out. They are letting the participation trophy society that cries about everything take over our country. It’s sad

Most folks do not like confrontation, are too busy making a living, don't want to get involved in something that could hurt them financially or cause them distractions and problems.

BUT, many folks do have things they care about deeply and will draw a line somewhere.

As time rolls on, more folks see their line crossed and they are forced to say "that's it, I have had enough". Time will tell how long it takes to reach critical mass and for the majority voice to become loud enough to discern above the dribble that get's amplified today.

Pretty cool to have a president retweet you, regardless of the reason. Disappointed in my expected level-headed take?
Trump riding a nineteen year old's coattails. LOL. Just hope he doesn't toxify the movement.

Trump helps make football happen and he just won almost every every college student that loves football’s vote...he’s working the biggest swing vote ever! Liberal professors heads will explode.

There's also a slight constitutional issue......

But eventually that would be a promising ticket.

Trump leads our national response to Covid with all of its failings and he "takes no responsibility at all". He tweets a few things about college football and we should give him all the credit if they play? Man, you are such a fanboy.

so what do you think of the latest news about NY? You know what I told you months ago about skilled facilities being forced to take patients, numbers lied about, and false reporting...yeah...fanboy here checking in...

Nothing about fanboy dude...As I’ve said multiple times it’s not Obama or Trump’s fault about the HHS not having enough PPE...It’s not his fault how states handled lock downs...if this Pandemic was as bad as claimed it would not be anyone in Washington’s fault for how different states handle. They can provide info gathered and give their opinion. Only person you can point finger at in Washington is Fauci and possibly the CDC who has been all over the board with info, reporting, and of recent instilling fear

Did you blame Obama for the piss poor handling of H1N1? I didn’t...not on him. He did a lot of shit that I didn’t agree with but not on him

You need to learn how these things are handled and the proper steps and realize that unless Trump called martial law that his opinion is just that...his opinion. Up to states to mandate, enforce, and enact their procedures and protocols and N.Y. failed...plain and simple

thoughts on this?

NYC was hit hard by the virus (until we kicked its ass), mostly because you have so many people packed into a small area. Unemployment has also been negatively affected by the loss of so much tourism. Sadly, I believe there is going to be another wave of layoffs and unemployment that hit all areas either later this month or next month.

The difference between you and me is that I take no pleasure in it. Just because a state or city is run by republicans I will not take pleasure in Americans losing their jobs. That's disgusting and unamerican and you should be ashamed.

mom not taking pleasure in shit...and until you kicked it’s ass? Your death rate per case is the worst along with New Jersey. I take no pleasure in it but let’s stop acting like NY handled this properly. They had the same people shoving wear a mask down our throats now refusing to shit anything down and Pelosi tipping up the State of the Union after Trump said we needed to take virus seriously and was mocked for ordering travel bans.

I just think the shut down is ridiculous. The school situation is a nightmare and people like you that will praise NY for kicking the virus’ ass will blame Trump for the virus spread. You pick and choose what’s convenient.

Where have you ever gotten the idea that I take pleasure in this...it’s exact opposite. I want the economy open, schools open...I was destroyed on here when I said this virus wouldn’t be nearly as deadly as what the numbers were showing and people were freaking out over something that would be deadly to unhealthy, overweight, and elderly people.

I mean seriously...Democrats calling for another shut down and not allowing a new stimulus until
Mail-in voting is allowed. If masks are so safe just require a mask at the polls. This is getting out of control. Open the damn country! We can have little league football but not high school or college?

And tourism has hurt unemployment in NY? What about Florida?

Underrated statement. Trump can say whatever he wants, but the state governors determine lockdowns, etc.

I still worry about long-term mental health effects from the prolonged shutdowns. I don't recall seeing groups with rifles at state houses or in state parks or the streets of larger cities before this.

Here's what I remember of NYC's handling of the virus:

The US Navy floats a 1000-bed hospital into New York Harbor for non-COVID patients, to allow the NY hospitals to concentrate on COVID. New York Hospital system runs the system to keep COVID patients off of the USNS Comfort. Mt. Saini system I think? First thing that happens? COVID patients wind up on the Comfort. Basically nullified that resource.

Samaritan's Purse sets up a hospital in NY (Central Park area maybe?) to help. First thing that happens? People bitch about Samaritan's Purse and what they stand for (though in NY's defense - it may or may not have been all NY residents - internet and all). Agree or disagree with their beliefs or Franklin Graham - he got Samaritan's Purse right. I've seen it first hand.

COVID patients forced into nursing homes among the most vunerable of patients. Probably why the NYC death rate was so high.

"Kicked it's ass" is not how I would describe that. Outlasted it - maybe.

The latest news is all the hidden skilled nursing facility deaths...after...get this...the HHS/CDC/CMS told hospitals on a national call they could NOT force skilled facilities to take anyone much less COVID patients and NY opted to do just that while these facilities were not being provided any PPE.

Most of that illegible, but I'll respond to the parts that I was able to translate into english.

Trump's China travel ban was stupid. It had so many exceptions that 100K people were still able to travel from china to the US in the following months. Like most of Trump's executive actions, it was more show and less substance.

Trump's handling of this was disgraceful. Still to this day he has access to fast result tests, but nobody else does.

If we did, we could have avoided a shutdown, at least a shutdown of entire states.

If we did, we would be playing football at every level.

If we did, kids would be in school.

Trump failed America. Plain and simple. And what did he say when asked about it? "I take no responsibility at all." And then he tried to blame Obama.

Check the curve my man.
https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/us/new-york-coronavirus-cases.html

I only caught a second of it before the paywall kicked up (and I ain't paying to read that) but I saw 32,000 deaths (approx). I wouldn't brag about that. I'd be going after a mayor and a governor's ASS. Especially considering how that happened.

But neither will happen.

Trump's handling of this was disgraceful. Still to this day he has access to fast result tests, but nobody else does.

Not gonna argue that Trump handled this perfectly but nobody has done a good job with it.

As far as test results - define "fast result tests". What's the timeframe?

This place advertises 15 minutes.....

https://www.gohealthuc.com/bayarea/covid-19-test

So it's out there. Only issue is apparently the patient has to be symptomatic (not sure if that is a requirement for the test to work, or just a barrier to keep people from trying to get tested every day....). There are also accuracy concerns:

https://medical.mit.edu/covid-19-updates/2020/08/15-minute-covid-test

My guess would be that in Trump's case, the sheer volume of testing he undergoes, combined with safety measures taken around him and him being presumably asymptomatic, make it a decent option.

BD (Becton, Dickenson and Co) has a handheld unit that was approved around July 7 under an emergency FDA Approval:

As an aside, this is the CDC interactive map on cases per 100K, and deaths.

https://www.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#cases

If you're worried about getting the Coof, move to Wyoming, Alaska, Hawaii, Guam......

Note that on the default map that comes up, state color is total cases, not cases per capita. That confused me at first.

SC and NYS (excluding NYC) aren't that far off on deaths per 100K (40 vs 81 - percentag-wise that is a big difference though but neither is huge). But NYC is a disaster at 281 deaths per 100K cases.

In NY's defense they were one of the first places in the US hit and we didn't know as much as we know now so there is that.
