TANNER MUSE

Q: How did you hurt your hand and what's the prognosis?

"It was the second play of the game and I was taking a cut block and had one on hand and one hand on the ground and I'm not sure which way it went but my fingers went like that or it went like that and I didn't think much of it. I thought I pulled it or strained it or something like that so I went back to the sideline and tried put my glove back on because I took it off after, I was like 'Well, maybe this is kind of serious,' so I took it off and went back to the sideline and kind of hung out and I guess that's when my adrenaline went down and I thought 'Well, maybe I should get this taped up,' and then Danny came over and checked it out and then started twisting on me and I was like "Uhh," and I didn't give him the right signs so I went back to the locker room and got an x-ray and it was broke so wrapped it and then I went back out."

Q: How much does that affect your ball skills?

"Yesterday it was good. I got some pass break ups with a big club and I've got a lot of room to work with but we'll see how it goes and Monday was good and hopefully today'll be the same. Adaption, all I've got to do is adapt to it."

Q: Do you feel like it's going well?

"Yeah, I do."

Q: What was the discussion with Dabo about coming back in?

"I just felt like you only get one go at this college football so you might as well. If you can withstand the pain then it's worth playing in so that's how I see it and I'm going to finish the season out and just ready to go."

Q: Do you feel like you got your swag back Saturday?

"Yeah, I don't think it ever left. We had a little pit stop but I think, like you said, getting the swag back-it showcased a little bit Saturday."

Q: Have you ever played in a cast before?

"I have not. I played my freshman, I tore my labrum freshman year so I had to play with that and wear a little sully brace and then my senior year as well I tore this one (other labrum) and played with the sully as well, and that's about it."

Q: Does it take much of an adjustment?

"Um, yeah it stinks dealing with that all the time. I sleep pretty good with it and I have sleep with it up so the blood don't get to the bottom but it's not biggie."

Q: How exciting is it to go on the road up there Saturday?

"It's going to be crazy, it's going to be an electric atmosphere. We're excited to help out with the division because they're undefeated in the division, so they're number one right now and just be able to compete with them because they see it as a shot for them to get into a New Year's Six bowl to get to the playoff and we see it as well so it's a big game for both of us so just bring our own energy and it's going to be an electric crowd feeding off them, it's going to be big."

Q: What have you seen on film this week?

"Their quarterback, he's a solid guy and he hits all his routes on time. He don't throw a lot of interceptions and they've got a lot of key guys around him being able to get off man to man coverage and being able to hit their zones when they need to but we're excited for it for the secondary to make a come back to what we displayed two games ago and show them what we're made of and go out there and compete with him."

Q: Is Jaylen Samuels as versatile a player as you'll face?

"He's quick, it's really hard when you go against a quick and a fast guy. There's differences, with quick you can get off the line really good but maybe sometimes you can catch up with him later on. Once he gets off that line, he has the speed to excel and just keep going, it's hard to catch up to him so you've really got to be good on your footwork and your recovery speed as well."

"He'll line up in the backfield, he'll line up as a fullback like a sniffer type thing and he'll line up in the slot, outside, he's everywhere. When you're number's called you've just got to be aware of what your key tells you and there's different keys in there so just be aware of what that key tells you and be able to play it how it is."

Q: Who's been playing him on scout team so far?

"We haven't went that far but probably Jayson Hopper. He's a pretty good little back and we've got a lot of shifty guys, Carter Groomes and Christian Brown so they'll probably do the same."

Q: Did you guys ever play against each other in high school being from North Carolina?

"No sir, no we didn't."

HUNTER RENFROW

Q: How important was it to get out there to a fast start offensively?

"I think that was important for kind of setting the tone of the game. I don't want to say it had all the ingredients for an upset, but it had the rain, we're a passing offense, we've been a passing offense but I guess we run it a little more now but it was good to get that spark of Deon and first two right out of the gate in the rain and knowing we're going to attack was good for the offense as well as the defense that we're not going to play passive but going out and attack."

Q: How good was it to see Kelly look alright and throw the ball well in the rain?

"I'm very surprised how well we threw and caught the ball. I thought it was going to be one of those games where it was going to be tough but Kelly did a tremendous job all night just like you said starting right out of the gate throwing two quick hitches to the boundary and then the receivers did a good job of making plays and securing the catch and holding onto it."

Q: Are you going to be watching the rankings tonight?
"No, I got a test tomorrow so I'll be studying for that and I think it's Halloween so that's the last thing on our mind. We feel like if we win out, we'll have a good chance so we're just trying to control what we can control and the rest will take care of itself."

Q: What do you remember about playing there two years ago?

"I remember, well I've said to a lot of the young guys that it's one of the best environments I've played in personally, I think it was like a 50-40 game when we played there last time and I just remember it being a shootout. I remember it being loud in the third quarter and I think it was, for me, one of the best environments I've been in at college so I'm excited about playing there again."

Q: Do you have a favorite costume from Halloween or a favorite candy perhaps?

"So my family didn't really celebrate Halloween growing up but we would always go out to eat and hang out as a family. I honestly didn't even know it was Halloween until 30 minutes ago when m girlfriend called me and I said 'I gotta study for this test tomorrow,' and she was like 'Well, let's go make some pumpkins or go do something,' and I'm like 'I've got to study,' but maybe after and she was like 'But it's Halloween,' and I was like oh well but that's the last thing on her mind so."

Q: If you had to dress up, what would it be?

"I don't know, that's a good question. I might get my golden retriever and dress him up like the Lion King with a big mane or something like that. I don't know."

MILAN RICHARD

Q: Tell us about Herschel Walker's visit:

"It was great, he had a great time. I think he got in town Friday and came and saw a little bit of our walkthrough in the stadium and was at the game Saturday and left early Sunday morning so great time and I think he'll be back soon and get to show him around a little bit more, probably when we're not in season so we'll have more time to spend together."

Q: Did other fans know who he was?

"No clue, because I wasn't with him. We were focused on the game so that was kind of my mom and my dad's job showing him around so I'll have to ask them but like I said we were locked in so I kind of saw him when I did late Saturday night or early Sunday morning and he was out of town pretty fast so yeah."

Q: Do your teammates ask you about Herschel ever?

"Every once in a while, usually when guys first get here but not on the daily. Just every once in a while like 'How was it having him as an uncle,' and things like that."

Q: Did you kid him that you scored and did something he never did in Clemson?

"No I didn't, I think he saw enough of that on his phone. I don't think I had to say anything, y'all put it out there pretty good so everybody knew what the deal was so I didn't have to do much of anything."

Q: How do you feel as far as the rest of the season goes?

"I definitely feel like just trying to help the team win so if my number is called, just trying to make a play. I would definitely say I'm more comfortable than I was starting the year with playing a couple games, now I feel like being out there with some experience under my belt. Just trying to help the team win whatever way I can."

"I think we have to exhaust each moment, whether we're in practice and giving everything you have at practice. If you're at a meeting, exhaust everything you have at that meeting and if we're eating dinner together then spend that time because eventually the sands run out of the glass and the season's going to be over so I just think it's very important that we take advantage of every opportunity that we have whether that's on the field together or eating together or at practice that we just need to make the most of our time because some of these guys aren't going to be back and it'll be a new team next year."

CHRISTIAN WILKINS NOTES

-Didn't know the rankings where happening today until the media mentioned it. Going to be exposed to it one way or another. It's only the first ranking and none of that matters.

-Ryan Finley doesn't make a lot of mistakes. He makes good decisions and does things right. We have to try and make it tough on him.

-Dayes was a really good running back last year. There isn't that much of a drop off back in that position.

-We know they have a really talented defensive line. It'll be fun to watch because they've got a lot of talented players.

-Loves playing at N.C. State, one of his favorite places to play. Really hostile environment and looking forward to going back there.

-Wasn't aware that N.C. State has homecoming this weekend, doesn't mean anything.

-It was fun playing backyard football in the rain Saturday.

Q: With Halloween being today, are the Power Rangers back out?

"I don't know what you're talking about. The Power Rangers are a lifestyle, not a costume. I don't know the Power Rangers personally, but I know they've gotta keep their identities hidden. I don't know."
