Turncoat Mike Pence spoke with CBN News this week. He now says there were irregularities in the 2020 election. But it was up to the states to do something about it. And he was not going to delay the electoral count to have those states look at it.
Mike Pence is such a disappointment.
And millions and millions of Trump voters will never forget what he did to this great nation.

Responding to MAGA Haters
Since Pence left office, he’s been under criticism by a segment of Trump supporters for his role in certifying the 2020 election results on January 6th. Many within the MAGA movement have called him a traitor. Pence gave CBN News a lengthy response.
“On January 6th, I said that I believe there were irregularities about which I was concerned, and I wanted them to have a fair hearing before the Congress,” Pence says. “But from the founding of this nation forward, it’s been well established that elections are to be governed at the state level and that the only role that Congress has is to open and count the electoral votes that are submitted by states across the country. No more no less than that.”
“And in January of 2017, I took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. The Bible says in Psalm 15, that he keeps his oath even when it hurts and, on that day, I could relate to that sentiment. But I wanted to keep my oath to the Constitution.”
That led Pence to a bottom-line conclusion. “I know in my heart of hearts that on that day, we did our duty, under the Constitution… I don’t know if President Trump and I will ever see eye to eye on that day. Or that many of our most ardent supporters will agree with my decision that day. But I know I did the right thing.”

What's really funny (or not) is that Republicans and OP actually think it's OK for the VP to not certify the elections because for <insert reason here> he believes that the electoral vote is somehow wrong even though the states in question certified the votes. One man can refuse to accept the votes of millions if he alone thinks it's justified.

Let's go back in time to 2000. The election comes down to Florida and a difference of < 600 (.009% of the total votes cast) votes. The Supreme court stopped the recount (ordered by the Florida Supreme Court) and ordered Bush declared the winner. Not because of any specific problem, but b/c the recount might cause irreparable harm to Bush's Presidency.

As we all know. VP Gore did the same thing that Mike Pence did. He certified the election. He gave the same reason that Pence did. It's not his place to decide whether to certify the election or not. It's his place to simply confirm the vote count certified by the states. I wonder what OP and the Republicans would have been saying at the time if Clinton was telling Gore not to certify the election b/c he didn't think it was legit? I'd be willing to bet OP would have been marching on Washington with a pitch fork and a torch saying how the VP couldn't do that.

But of course when it's Trump, rule of law doesn't matter... Because ... it's Trump. And when the VP doesn't agree with Trump... like anyone else... he must be destroyed.

There are now laws on the books in multiple states that give state legislatures the power to overturn election results and install their own presidential electors.

This truly might be the end of our democracy. All in service of a reality tv idiot.

1. you are absolutely right. I think the state senate in GA was genius to put in the clause about not handing out water to people in line. That is all people talked about (like @scotchtiger). We just gloss over the part where they can just overturn the election results whenever they want.

2. I read the other day that the 50 senate republicans represent 40mm fewer people than the 50 senate democratics. That explains a lot about republicans are fighting so hard to suppress votes.

The state legislatures have always certified the results dude. The dirty communist dems cheated and it will be proven before this is all over. I hope that you are just a liberal that wants it done fair and correct and not a willing participant in the great steal of 11/3/2020.
