We looked like them on offense and they somewhat resembled what I expected us to look like.
Total role reversals. It was shocking (but fun as heck) to watch! Honestly, this is the team I have been longing for. Run the ball and play defense......you will win way more than you lose. We have a very good thing going on here right now.....
To the Irish dude that was on here last week - I told you we would sell out to stop the run and if you couldn't run it, then it would be a long night. If Scott hauls in the deep ball from Watson and we go up 28-3, there is no comeback.......
I do think ND showed great heart and character - props for that. Most teams would have wilted the first 10 minutes of the game......
Watson involved in the run game - you could see it coming at Louisville......and yes Walt Deptula - we had been holding back on some of those QB runs.
Some think we got conservative with the lead, but the 2 throws into the EZ suggest otherwise. We took our shots, just didn't connect (fg included).
Ready to write Peake off.....that is all.
I had rather win games with defense than a fancy O. Love it!
Walt also made the statement that #4 would have to be the best player on the field last night for us to win......well, he wasn't and we did. The OL showed out, 9 was a beast, but our MVP continues to be #1. The Freak saved yest another game for us (how many is that now?) and had their WR looking for him all night long (some resulting in dropped passes).
We won't face another OL that good. I was begging BV to put the zone blitz package in his back pocket because they picked it up every time. We honestly got better pressure with 4 than we did bringing extra guys.....
And finally - Mac Deuce (#2).....beast mode kid. I love the swag when we backing it up!
