ESPN has an interesting rating system that can be found here called "Team Efficiency Rankings." You can sort by unit - offense, defense and special teams. Given the pathetic display by our ST unit last night, I thought we should evaluate our growth in this area relative to our growth in offense and defense during the Swinney era.

As an added information point, I will layer in the coordinators during this time to see how hiring new coordinators has triggered either growth or decline in these units. The rankings really highlight how certain coordinators have helped (Venables, Morris) or hurt (Steele, Pearman) the team based on the trend of their unit.

From our current coordinators, I think we can easily conclude that Venables is awesome. Elliott doesn't have a sufficient body of work on which to be judged. Pearman's unit has shown a clear regression - going from generally a top 25 unit under Andre Powell to a unit ranked in the 100s the last two seasons.
