Apologies for the Fox News link, but didnt see it elsewhere. Ya'll see this?

*Cliffs* 23 year old US soldier stationed in South Korea was being sent home to face further disciplinary actions for being a "problem", snuck onto a tourist group of the Korean border. When he had the chance he sprinted across the border into NORTH KOREA. Im assuming to defect ...

Two possible outcomes here

1) the DPRK parades him around in front of the media in a attempt to embarrass the United States
2) He is tortured to death or mostly death like the UVA kid from a few years ago

I think it would be more of an embarrassment to the soldier. You have to be some kind of stupid to want to defect to N. Korea.

Oh 100%, I could just see the DPRK parading him around, showing him smiling and meeting DPRK officials with headlines like "American sees the light and willingly abandons the US"...something like that.

They of course will use him for a news cycle and then .... off to a work camp.

Of course ... if he does return to the US, I dont see a way he avoids being in Leavenworth for a lengthy stay

sooooo either way ... my goodness what a terrible decision

I hope our government does not spend one dime or one minute trying to get him back. He made his choice.

I would love to see some specific people on here defect to North Korea and then report back to TI on the outcome
