Been working twelve-hour shifts at the SC emergency ops center the last several days and thought I would post some ways to help the effort if anyone is so inclined. SC Emergency Management Division (SCEMD) has a page set up for those who want to give, but don't know where or how:http://www.scemd.org/recovery-section/donations-and-volunteers You can also visit the United Way of SC here: http://getconnected.uwasc.org/drm

On a more personal note, I have a buddy who lost everything when the Old Mill Pond dam breached. His name is Jonny Mondragon and he has a photography studio in the Old Mill. He also worked as a dessert chef at the Old Mill Brew Pub, my local watering hole (I live a few miles away). For those that know the area, Jonny rented the cabin behind Rhouten's Country Store right across from the Old Mill - he lost everything, including his car. He was right in the path of the flood waters. I can personally vouch for the damage because I drive by his house everyday to take my kids to school.

Anyway, if you are so inclined, he has a go fund me site: https://www.gofundme.com/pz5pnzqw and here is his FB page that has a pic of his house and car: https://www.facebook.com/jonny.mondragon?pnref=friends.search . Again, I can personally vouch that it is legit.
