There may be some Tarzana Joe fans here in TI. For those that have never heard of him, he has a poem every Friday; as a guest on the Hugh Hewitt radio show. As a promo for his site, I am leaving today's poem and maybe another; as his poems are always relevant to current happenings. www.tarzanajoe.com

Cheaters Never Win

Though some sage said this long ago
It’s worth it to repeat
If the contest isn’t close
Then the Democrats can’t cheat

I have another maxim
You can put this one in quotes
Cheating’s even easier
If you don’t count the votes

Monday left the punditry
Blathering for hours
It looked so like a funeral
I even sent them flowers

Unable to think clearly
They turned their wrath on Iowans
The mood was dark and somber
I think I heard some “violins”

Nothing, folks to see here
It was just another news day
And we promise to have answers
Somewhere close to Super Tuesday

Losing makes them crazy
And losing makes them sad too
Cause they didn’t cheat for Hillary
Since they didn’t think they had to

Voters on the Left are
So intent to take the prize
They even keep on voting
Years after their demise

When counting’s close, they have a way
Of gumming up the plumbing
These aren’t all the ballots
Another trunkful’s coming!

So, when that party brags about
The industries they’re busting
Stop and think a moment
Are these people worth your trusting

Yes folks, tune in next Tuesday
And pour yourself some scotch
Let’s see if they can count the votes
They cast in Dixsville Notch
...Tarzana Joe...

This was his first submission of the new year:

Fast (and Furious)

For every kind of problem
I’m sure there are solutions
But I don’t put much confidence
In New Year’s Resolutions

Though I’ve proposed a couple
To which you might relate
I’ve promised to grow older
And resolved to gain some weight

Last year I sowed more guarantees
That even I could reap
This year I made commitments
It won’t be hard to keep

But though my pledge to let things go
Is valid and long lasting
I thought I might just take a chance
On intermittent fasting

This diet can be followed by
The genius or the fool
Everything is edible
There’s just a single rule

You put aside the pleasure
Of the knife, the fork, the spoon
And not consume a morsel
Between 8 PM and Noon

I’ll only have 8 hours
To perform my daily eating
So please expect, around the clock
Some pretty cranky tweeting

Assuming I have discipline
And stick to my intentions
I may apply the principle
And muster more abstentions

If this works out the way I hope
I have no problem stating
I may abstain from watching
Next week’s Democrats debating

As a poet-pundit
Yes, I know I really ought
But I’m sure that their opinions
Will bring little food for thought
...Tarzana Joe...
