what is up with all the criticism of Tony Elliott on here? I mean, Rob Spence comparisons...GTFO! Watch the game, we took what Louisville gave us and what our poor play allowed us to do.
If you want to criticize something, criticize EXECUTION.
DW4 had probably his worst performance to date (throwing into double coverage, not setting his feet, totally missing a wide open man for a TD, etc.). The oline was not finishing plays (a lot of "watching" as Gallman ran). Peake with a terrible drop. There were some piss poor blocking efforts by almost everyone on the edge not name Hunter Renfroe. You can coach technique, but you can only replace poor effort.
Heck, Gallman damn near had 100 yards AFTER contact (he finished around 94 yards after contact by my count), which is probably why he kept taking himself out.
Add to all of that several craptastic blown calls by the refs that totally changed the game (missed face mask: game over, no bogus hands to the face: drive over, no Louisville TD).
Seems to me that the snap criticisms on here are getting worse (along with the level of football knowledge).
Let us not forget how flipping hard it is to win an away Thursday night game on short rest against a team with a pulse and a stout home field crowd.
No way a Bowden/Spence tandem wins last night. Take a damn deep breath and enjoy the W.
