My wife and I sit at our house each day and marvel at the daily news

Both of us are retired and doing fine in our Golden Years with travel , recreational , lifestyle , etc so we want for very little on the day to day

We do what we want and although inflation and problems affect us they affect us much less because of where our life is at

With all that said each day we absolutely laugh at the people who come on TV and complain about problems

we look at each other and say what did the people expect and complain

these same people who complain about problems many voted for Biden and Democrats

Then we laugh as if the election was held today HELL they would be total morons and vote for Democrats and Biden again

Do stupidity and ignorance is a part of their being

So we keep watching and laughing

Maybe one day these uninformed voters will figure it out

For now ignorance rules

As one of the few independents on this board, I can say that FOR SURE that I wouldn't vote for Joe Biden if the Republicans gave me anyone (anyone at all) reasonable to vote for. You know, someone who's not a total ass clown (not that Biden doesn't check a bunch of those boxes as well). Run Nicky Haley, Mitt Romney, that Hogan dude from Maryland (there's a bunch of folks that would be fine) and I'd vote for them in a heartbeat. Run Trump and I'll vote Biden.

The last three choices to run the greatest country on the planet have been Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, and Joe Biden. That's just sad.

I would love to see Niki Haley and Tim Scott team up...

Don’t forget to add Bernie Sanders. Even though he was never on the November ballot, he was close to winning the Democratic nomination on two occasions.

That’s a helluva foursome, and a direct indicator of the state of Americans and our values.

And if you want to go back to 2016, Ted Cruz was 2nd to Donald. Woof

What exactly is the state of Americans and our values? Indicating what? Explain it to me.

I consider the 4 of them to be masters of identity politics and demonizing the other side. They play to the “fears” of their base.

All of them won primaries that early on contained opponents that I consider to be more intellectual and independent of thought. As Americans, we gravitate to the loud and shiny and don’t think a “boring” candidate can win a general election.

Not sure if that completely answered your question, but that is what I meant by my OP.

I feel like you few guys get the point

The voting is like who in the hell can I vote for

The system is so mucked up

What is really pathetic is people think that spying and using the power of the intelligence agencies against Trump was OK and not criminal

It like the crimes we commit are OK because Trump is so bad

Well I see it different that Trump was no where near the bad side as their actions

Like I liked Bill Clinton and people chased him with scandal

I keep asking myself is there anyone that people can support without so much rancor and hate from both sides

I guess not

Well at least we have mid-terms and assassination attempts on sitting Supreme Court judges to look forward to on the news

As a total distraction I watch how Merritt Garland runs the DOJ using it to spy and intimidate soccer moms and school parents

or not follow laws such as protecting Supreme Court judges from mob intimidation

I keep asking myself what code of laws does he read because virtually everything he does is off the rails strange and stretching the laws

Well back to hoeing weeds and planting stuff

It does. Don't agree completely, but good points. Thanks.

Everything you state isn't reality-based. You got issues dude.

i never understood all the bernie vitriol. i don't really agree with any of his policies, but he doesn't seem like an absolute scumbag or dirty politician. seems like he's generally interested in making life better for less fortunate people, he just has a different philosophy on how to do that than me

If voting mattered it would be illegal.

This is spot on. The fact of the matter is that running the government SHOULD be something that a "boring" candidate should excel at. Personally, I want someone in the oval office that's working at the business of the country, not watching the news, tweeting, or bumbling around making stupid soundbites. Honestly, if the President is doing his or her job, there should be very little that is newsworthy on a day to day basis and we should really hear his name mentioned.

sadly that doesn't make money so the media has a vested interest in making sure there's always some presidential headline
