Why the exodus from the state of Alabama?

That’s one thing I can’t say about FL - my property taxes are pretty pricey, but better than a state with high property taxes AND state taxes
Yeah, I own a home in FL and my property taxes are probably 3-4x what you would pay in SC. The Homestead Exemption makes a big difference but rental property taxes are through the roof. My first rental in FL, my landlord was paying about $25k a year just in property tax.

I guess it depends on what part of the state you live in, but the desirable parts of FL have really high property taxes.

Oh, uh, yeah. Greenville too, don't believe the hype. Columbia and Charleston are much better options. Don't come here it sucks and stuff.
I don’t think I’ve ever stopped in Greenville. Don’t worry.

As a bartender that sees Californians moving every week to NC, I can attest that Gavin is the biggest problem in Cali.

I tell everyone of those transplants not to bring their pansy ass liberal politics with them.
Gavin is a symptom of that sewer hole. It was already bad 30 yrs ago.
My life as a single person from ‘83-93:
Was in two convenience stores when robberies went down, put one guy in jail testifying.
Got two motorcycles stolen.
Had my truck broken into and got hit by an illegal- no insurance.
Foiled an armed robbery attempt at a restaurant I was managing and got to another restaurant for the night shift right after a robbery.
I always lived in houses I would rent with guys I went to church with or knew well. Never had a problem except ONE time I moved into a nice five bedroom in Chatsworth with two guys I knew and two I didn’t. Well one of them had a drug problem and my truck and Ninja disappeared one day. The guy came back and he had traded them for the money he owed, a CRIP DRUG LORD!!!
I called LAPD and after showing my license and registration took my truck and bike back under police escort, hurried home and moved out of the house in the space of two hours.
I had a roommate who came to Greenville to go to seminary in ‘91 and five more of my friends moved here and we never looked back. It’s a true hell hole now. There are at least 50,000 homeless in DT LA now and a massive rat infestation. It’s a truly oppressive place to live in almost every respect.
Don’t worry lol, rock ribbed conservative. First time I ever voted was for Reagan’s second term.
I got to SC and was like a fish in water, settled in, took a deep breath and smelled the freedom and prosperity and thanked the good Lord.

Ive spent my life traveling and working in most states, but I came back here. Love it here.

Love Western NC, Pisgah Forest seems more like home than sleezley Easley....

Easley was great in the 80s. Now just an overpacked suburb of Greenville with no identity.
