I watched the Sweet 16 last night and was SO frustrated as I pondered why Clemson BBall isn't there?! We are a thoroughbred program with the building blocks in place to climb the mountain thanks to Neff!
I started reading about successful college basketball programs and learned about Jay Wright at Villanova, a school just outside of Philadelphia! Their coach is a proven winter, has compiled a 638-231 record (69% ), and even won a couple national championships!
Clemson is the greatest college town in America and Jay Wright would be ignorant to not consider the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. With our staunch football budget, we could easily afford Jay Wright and lure him from the cesspool that is Philadelphia. He only made $6mil this year so if we offered $6.5 then he'd recognize how much further his money goes in South Carolina instead of Pennsylvania.
I can't imagine a Jay Wright hire wouldn't get people talking about Clemson basketball on the national stage like we used to be with Oliver Purnell.
