Like I said, because what Trump has done is unprecedented in our history and something never imagined by our founders. Who would ever think our own President would be able to fool millions of feeble-minded Americans into believing the election was stolen and enrage them enough to attack our own government?

Have you read the amendment? If you have, you'd know it doesn't require a conviction. That's not what the Supreme Court will be adjudicating either. They'll decide whether it applies to a president since the language is vague.
As a Trumper you know all about interfering with a free and fair election, so tell me, if Biden loses and refuses to accept the results and plots to overturn the election by lying like a dog, removing Garland and replacing him with a lackey, developing a fake elector scheme, pressures election officials to find non-existent votes, pressures Kamala into not accepting the results and overruns Congress with far-left thugs, do you think he should get off scot-free and face no consequences?

They may have envisioned a demagogue like him but they intended impeachment to be the remedy. I don't believe they envisioned a leader escaping impeachment twice with no consequences and a feckless party hellbent on re-electing him again.
