There is not, nor has there ever been, a healthcare crisis due to hundreds of thousands of Drug overdoses happening at the same time causing a systemic collapse of our ability to treat every patient in Hospitals.
Making these absurd comparisons just further illustrates how benign any argument against my primary point is. Of course those who can not get vaccinated due to medical reasons should be treated if they get COVID. I would also hope those same people are doing everything in their power to avoid contracting COVID though. My "High horse" has consistently been directed at one group of individuals. Those who can, but refuse to get vaccinated based on false information from boards like this or anywhere on social media, then when they catch COVID they get much sicker than they need to, and we arrive where we are today with a majority of states suffering from 90+ capacity in ICU's.
Facts:
Of all COVID positive patients in hospitals in the United States, 98.9% are unvaccinated.
Of all COVID positive patients that die in hospitals in the United States, 99.998% are unvaccinated.
I comfort people as they die alone or as they are put on a ventilator while they beg for the Vaccine that had told me just days before when they were admitted that they doubt they have Covid, and it's fake, and the Vaccine is "Biden's political weapon" ( Which is seriously wild considering Trump deserves a majority of the credit for it). At the same time we have to turn away critical patients who die sometimes on our lobby floor because we have no where to put them.
