we were ranked #12. We got up to #6 before Duke upset us led by the up and coming Steve Spurrier. We finished the season ranked #12 after destroying West Virginia.

Little did we know when the preseason poll came out that at season’s end, we would lose our legendary coach and then shortly thereafter wander in the wilderness for two decades.

Flash forward to today and we are #9 and once again a national power. I’m dropping my son off for his freshman year at Clemson on Thursday. I’m grateful that he will get to see a nationally prominent football program just like I did so long ago. Hopefully he will see a Natty too. Go Tigers!
