I got back from a weekend for a Bachelors Party in Orlando/Cocoa/Tampa and we caught the Sunday Spring Training Game.
We had a die hard Braves fan (my brother) in our group and we really believe we can contend for a Wild Card spot despite some key losses in our bullpen and lineup. The thing is, I really like the moves John Hart and John Coppelella - trading away some of our high power/high strikeout players and bringing in key pieces for the farm and high contact players.
I was okay with parting ways with J-Hey because I don't think we could resign him next year. Plus, I really like Shelby Miller. I was more than okay parting ways with Gattis and J-Up.
If we can get .250 from Gomes and Nick Markakis stays healthy, I like our lineup so much better than last year's lineup. They key to me is our fifth SP and production from LF and 2B.
My Prediction in the NL:
NL East - Nationals
NL Central - Pirates
NL West - Dodgers
NL Wildcard 1 - Cardinals
NL Wildcard 2 - Braves
I think the Mets and Marlins will be good. And I think the Giants will be in the hunt as well. But call me a homer, GO BRAVES!
