Wife took our two 5 1/2 month old Cavaliers out last night around 9:30 on leashes. I was half asleep in my chair and I heard a blood curling scream. Ran to the patio and my wife was as scared as I have ever seen her. A coyote (big one) ran out of the shrubbery at back of our house towards her and the dogs. Doubt it was going to attack her but obviously her scream scared the coyote (scared me) away. She now wanting me to find deterrents. Been reading and there are whistles, lights, chemicals, Cheyenne pepper, but really do not know where to start.
We live in the country and hear them all the time but never have seen one in my yard before last night
