On the surface Cade's numbers are respectable 63.5% completion rate, 13 tds against 3 Ints at 1,684 yards through the air. The lost fumbles and the YPA 6.9 pretty much tell the story of his play being not good overall. Some of his play will improve with more experience but we need him to grow up big the next 5 games.

Receivers and TE's is the same story, more injuries, never the same lineup weekly and not one Receiver going to break even 750 yards on the season. Tyler has an outshot shot of doing so as he has been the most impressive when he plays. Brown has 29 catches for 291 yards and Beaux is right behind him at 26 catches and 368 yards. Jake had a great week and has a shot of surpassing Davis Allen's numbers from a year ago. The receivers we trot out due to injuries will be very interesting from here on out.

Now for the shocker, we are getting almost nothing from our running game, especially compared to a year ago. Shipley is averaging 84.0 yards from scrimmage a game and Mafah only 60 scrimmage yards per game. Shipley is running lower Yards per carry and yards per catch than last year and is very far behind last year's pace in yards per game from scrimmage. He has had no impact on Special teams and he was a stalwart in the return game a year ago. Our Qb a year ago rushed for 545 yards in basically 11 games and this year the QB run is an afterthought. We need a speed injection to this lineup and quick.

All of the talk about it being just about turnovers/fumbles is simply not true. While its a big part of the picture it leaves out the fact that in most areas we have regressed and the area's we have improvement it is only incremental. Worse yet, our achilles heel of not having an offensive identity is as true today as it was with Streeter's "Clemson Offense". Of the next 5 games, 2 are against teams with very good to Elite defenses. It feels like there is more humbling on the way.
