I can’t imagine too many of us pay much attention to the other Upstate CFB teams, but Furman is having themselves a season! So, thought it worth a share.
FU is 9-1, with their only loss coming early in the year to the Gamecocks.
They are ranked #2 in the nation, second only to the FCS powerhouse that is SD St.
FU clinched the SoCon and their automatic playoff spot last week.
And with only 1-9 Wofford left this weekend, are looking at a 10-1 record and a very high seed heading into the playoffs.
SD St and the Montana schools are really strong, so not sure what the chances are Furman can knock any of them out of the playoffs, but it looks like the best team the Paladins have had in some time and it’s worth keeping an eye on them as we head into the postseason.
