That’s a fairly discriminating and racist thing to think that most of these children would be nothing but poor and a drain on society. What about the children that will create or invent things that will improve our society because they experienced being poor?According to the CDC, had abortion been illegal over the last 15 years, there would currently be 12 million more people between the ages of 3-18 in the US. Many of these children would have been born into poverty, many would have been born to single mothers.
The question that I’m getting at is, are we as a society ready and willing to commit to taking on the burden of 12 million more children? 12 million more that need healthcare, 12 million more that need an education, 12 million more that need to eat. How many of those 12 million would end up needing foster care?
The private sector can’t solve all those problems. It just can’t. The private sector isn’t solving the problems we have now, and it won’t solve 12 million more. It can help, sure. But it won’t do the job on its own. Not if we are serious about providing for the children in our society.
You say you want to eliminate abortions, but also say the government shouldn’t mandate free birth control. Yet ever since the government did mandate free birth control under President Obama, the number of abortions in the United States has declined. This is according to CDC numbers.
These are the things that serious people must consider when they talk about banning abortion. What are the consequences of that? What do we do about more child poverty? How does that impact the economy? How does that change government spending?
Where are our priorities as a society?
What about the rich mother’s child that would have donated most of their time and future inherited wealth to the poor. Because the last thing they wanted is to be like the selfish mother that took their life? Therefore changing generations of selfishness to come from her lineage for generations.
What about the children that grow up to be social workers, volunteers, donors, CEOs, preachers, nuns, priest, or even President? I believe the upside from those unborn that are slaughtered would have far outweighed the downside of the poor that you talk about like they are some burdensome disease!!
To think otherwise is just selfish, racist and is the reason Planned Parenthood targets the poor, mostly minority neighborhoods for their locations. The elitist left wing in this country thinks they know better than God. Look up some of Ted Turner’s thinking if you’re not convinced or the elitist thinking of someone like goofy ass Big Bird ( @johnhugh )
