We seem to be offering earlier and offering more prospects at positions of need for 2025. We also seem to be back focused a little more on kids in the Carolinas, Georgia, Virginia and Florida as opposed to California and further away prospects in the age of portal and NIL. Kids from further away appear to be greater portal risks.

As a result of lessons learned it seems we are willing to offer a 3-4 star regional kid sooner in the process versus holding out for 5 star national prospects at skill positions as many have national prospects have nil focused recruitment.

On the heels unprecedented success and in pre portal / pre NIL years Clemson made the fewest offers and often was very late in getting offers out compared to our competitors. We tended to recruit / offer our top player who often were national recruits and only offer down the list once a prospect committed elsewhere. Trenton Simpson's recruitment comes to mind.

This slow one at a time philosophy continued but post portal and NIL the recruiting market changed. We were late on Antonio Williams, Jarvis Green and Tyler Brown while chasing higher profile recruits we didn't win due to NIL and other factors. Williams and Brown turned out better than the guys we lost but I think we are offering more kids earlier now as a result.

We also missed out on a number of guys that we otherwise might have gotten had we offered earlier. Staley comes to mind as one.

We seem to be getting offers out earlier and be willing to accept commitments sooner.

Spiller got offers out much earlier on RB in 2024 and 2025. We got out offers out earlier on the WR from Virginia as well.

I like the hungrier and more aggressive strategy. With the portal we will need bigger classes.
