I think the President is dead wrong on this and I think it is a very bad move to pardon his son and sets a pretty awful precedent for the country. Presidents using pardons as favors for friends/family/loyalists is something that should stop.
After nominating Patel, all bets were off because we know Trump and Patel would have come after him with every tool in their arsenal to cause him as much judicial pain as possible. So I don't blame Biden for pardoning his only remaining son who would have likely been in jail until long after Joe died if Kash got his way.
