Boat lift repairs

Anyone work on or have a connection for boat lift repairs (Lake Greenwood). I think the rising flood waters may have fried my switch for it. It was submerged for awhile (no power) but the power came back on today and when I got out here the reset switch thing was still plugged in and super hot. Doesn’t work though and my boat is currently stuck on the wooden posts 😀.

What field/industry are you in and how are you affected? (Storm Talk)

Im in the construction industry and we're obviously going to be busy these next few weeks/months, but Im curious how others are doing? Seem like a great time to be in the electrical business. I told my son as we were clearing trees from our property, Electrical engineers, lineman and anything to do with power are being called from all over the country to come work.

I said I doubt anyone in the upstate is looking for investment advice at the moment.

I try to use these trying times as a great opportunity to learn something. Aside from choosing your career wisely, I've learned that our cell phones are practically useless without Wifi, (I'm not sure what we did in the early 2000's), but also Cash is still king. For a 12-year-old boy, I think he saw firsthand the panic people experienced when they wouldn't take cards or electronic payment.

Hope everyone is safe out there!

Day 4 of no power for us. Powdersville/Easley area.

@Pitt: Away game tickets?

Question … I haven’t gotten away game tickets through IPTAY since 2012. Back then, a couple weeks before the game IPTAY would mail the paper tickets to me.

I requested 4 tickets to the Pitt game this year, and the “request” shows up on my account, but not seeing anything where it’s been “confirmed”. Also, in this day and age of electronic tickets, how are away game tickets delivered now?

Thanks!!!!

Iran launches missiles at Israel, IDF says

By: Dan Mangan - CNBC.com

Iran launched missiles toward Israel on Tuesday, the Israeli military said.

The announcement by the Israel Defense Forces came hours after a White House official told NBC News that the United States had seen indications that Iran is preparing to “imminently” launch a ballistic missile attack on Israel on the heels of Israel’s ground incursion into south Lebanon.

The White House official warned that any direct attack on Israel by Iran “will carry severe consequences for Iran.”

“We are actively supporting defensive preparations to defend Israel against this attack,” the official said.

That official and a Defense Department official said that Iran was expected to target military and government sites, not civilian locations.

The U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem directed all U.S. government employees and their families in Israel to “shelter in place until further notice.”

The embassy in the same notice said it “reminds U.S. citizens of the continued need for caution and increased personal security awareness as security incidents, including mortar and rocket fire and unmanned aircraft system UAS intrusions, often take place without warning.”

“The security environment remains complex and can change quickly depending on the political situation and recent events,” the notice said.

Iran’s suspected planned attack came as Israeli ground forces crossed into south Lebanon as part of an attack on Hezbollah, the militant group backed by Iran. The number of Israeli troops who have entered Lebanon is in “the low hundreds,” an Israeli official told NBC News.

Israel last week killed Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah in a bombing in Beirut.

Iran Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the killing of Nasrallah and a senior Revolutionary Guards commander in that attack “will not go unanswered.” Araghchi said the United States was “complicit in this crime.”

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell more than 250 points by 10 a.m. ET, spurred by a surge in the cost of West Texas Intermediate crude oil, on fears of heightened tensions in the petroleum-rich Middle East.

The WTI November contract was up nearly 3% by midmorning, hovering shy of $70 a barrel.

In April, Iran launched an attack on Israel that included more than 300 drones and ballistic missiles after two top Iranian commanders were killed by an Israeli airstrike in Syria.

Most of the missiles and drones were shot down by the Israeli and U.S. militaries.

Best national leader on Earth right now...

God bless him. We should be pursuing an all encompassing relationship with Argentina. Of course, only if we decide we're going to care about the things he's talking about again. Neither candidate has done a great job of expressing support for these things. That's expected of the Democrats, but very disappointing (and no less real) to see from the GOP.

YouTube TV question...

This may have been posted in a previous thread, but a quick YTTV question. I'm about to make the switch from Direct TV. When you make a Family Group in YTTV, it says that all of the participants have to live in the same household. I have 2 kids at Clemson - would they be able to join my Family Group, or does YTTV recognize that they are not living at home? To this point, they have just been using my email to sign in. Thanks....

Seriously. How are Clemson’s concessions still this bad?

This weekend was my first home game in 7 years. How is it possible that Clemson hasn’t upgraded their concession offerings in all that time? I get it that the storm disrupted deliveries so they were out of stuff like burgers and some stuff, like pretzels, were leftovers but that doesn’t change the fact that what they offer in general is absolutely terrible. How are so many other schools so much better at what they offer?
