OT: Weekend Outdoor Cooking Thread....

Getting ready to log out the neighborhood....again (imagine that).

Wife got me a nice thick Wagyu Ribeye, a small piece of Salmon for herself. Seasoned the steak with a mix of a couple of Kinder's rubs (Buttery Steakhouse and Red Jalapeño and Garlic). Resting comfortably in the refrigerator.

For tomorrow, she got a Wagyu TriTip.

She wanted to try out Tate Meatworks in Spartanburg. The cuts look good, we'll see how it goes.

Lighting and photo skills blow, but here you go....

Stanford Team Flight Tonight from SJC to GSP

As of 6:25pm EST, it has been on tarmac since 4:29pm EST looking for a window to land tonight...currently supposed to take off at 6:37pm EST but we shall see...

That approach and landing might be quite horrible.

Bad flight starting with more than 2 hours on Tarmac

Hurricane Helene coming late week

The storm coming up near the Yucatan is concerning for us. There is another system coming off Africa. The one in the gulf should get named first, making it Helene. If not it'll be Isaac. It has the potential to rapidly develop and become a major hurricane. The barometric pressure has the potential to be in the mid to low 900s, which means a cat 3 storm or worse. If that happens it'll cause major damage somewhere between the gulf coast of Florida to Alabama. Right now it looks to make landfall around Thursday and potentially move through SC on Friday/Saturday. While a direct hit to the SC coast is worst case scenario for SC, eastern gulf landfalling hurricanes usually put us in the dreaded NE quadrant. Models currently have it moving quickly (much quicker than Debby), but it could bring significant impact to SC Friday/Saturday.

A little something for the TI Don....

Campus construction

Going to the games over the last few weeks has made me realize, even more so, how much campus has changed in the last few years. From the entire Johnstone area being destroyed, and all the changes alongside Perimeter Road, I never realized just how much has changed in such a short amount of time.

What do y’all think of the changes? Good, bad, or don’t really have an opinion?
