Thats the thing that makes me appreciate the folks that sign a blank check over to the government. They are willing to die if the country needs them to pay that price no matter if they believe in the war, party, or assignment.

Regardless of who’s in office, it is the principle of protecting the institution and the rule of law, the most basic foundation of society and civility. It’s what separates peaceful order from chaos. Ive read a lot and heard many stories from vets about other countries. This one is still special and worth defending at all costs. I would love to have served in that capacity for any President.
I would hope that the vast majority of those privileged enough to be afforded protective detail would treat those who would knowingly and willfully sacrifice their life for them with the utmost of respect and dignity.

You served and protected your country when called upon, regardless of personal beliefs, party/political affiliation, etc. That is often the least appreciated, yet arguably the single most important element of federal service.
