Brad: I felt like we were searching. I was searching to try to help our guys. Big guys didn't go a good job of finishing around the basket.
Now that is a profound statement!Brad:
"We didn't play with good poise tonight."
Brad never wanted him to leave, but he guaranteed Chauncey Wiggins a starting spot. The rest is written. CW is holding us back, big time.Yall act like Brad wanted him to leave. RJ was told he'd be backing up the 4 and 5 this year. He wanted to go somewhere and start. So he left. He was never going to stay here to be 6th man
Oh I totally understand... just said I missed him?Yall act like Brad wanted him to leave. RJ was told he'd be backing up the 4 and 5 this year. He wanted to go somewhere and start. So he left. He was never going to stay here to be 6th man
Zero hustle. We shot a ton of 3’s and didn’t take any advantage of our huge edge in size.Missed the game tonight but can anyone explain how they shot 20 fts to our 5? 5 free throws seems incredibly low
We have been able to level the ball off most of the year (SC game withstanding) but teams who can get a piece of the paint give us fits.Brad: We didn't win the 1-on-1 matchups very often and that was disheartening.
good question, looking back on it , we never could really work the ball inside and prob didnt attack the rim as much as we should have, but that is hindsight.....we certainly didnt get the calls. Refs def picked on shief a little, i thought...Missed the game tonight but can anyone explain how they shot 20 fts to our 5? 5 free throws seems incredibly low
yep, what an embarrassment for number one ... but it happensBad road games happen.
# 8 Florida 73 #1 Tennesse 43
U called it perfectly! And we’re now 0-9 at L’villeExpecting a let down game here. Combo of us having not played great recently and Vik’s health, along with Louisville being much improved
Florida is probably a Final Four team.yep, what an embarrassment for number one ... but it happens
right, if only reeves could be that ...he just seems a little naturally clumsy, but to be fair, i think he had a bad foot injury in high school, and then last year at duke, he missed most of the season for ankle injury? ...I just think they could really use a bouncy, athletic big dude when Ian isn't having a good night.
i agree, its basketball, short turnaround on a road trip to play the hottest team in the league right now is a tough draw , we may not be a great team tonight but neither was number one tennessee...All those are true. I’m simply saying sometimes there is a reason. That’s all.
Wiggins is a huge liability in the starting 5 … he’s a role player for shooting 3s only (he’s on about every 3-4 games, at best) … his defense and rebounding is poor for a 3rd year guy w/ his height and agility … he’s wasting his talent by playing so lazy and very soft!Brad never wanted him to leave, but he guaranteed Chauncey Wiggins a starting spot. The rest is written. CW is holding us back, big time.
Imagine, if we had a legitimate star like the Stojakovic kid playing SF. We could’ve easily upgraded Wiggins in the portal.
we hustled , we just got fouls called on us most every time we did ..Zero hustle. We shot a ton of 3’s and didn’t take any advantage of our huge edge in size.
We didn’t hustle, at all. Teams that play soft, get foul calls. Louisville was first to the ball, all night.we hustled , we just got fouls called on us most every time we did ..
we did shut down Hepburn thoThat’s nonsense lol. We couldn’t guard a prom dress, tonight.
he logged prob about 38 hard mins a game for several games in a row, played through a calf injury, and now has played through the flu, as did several guys on the team, including lahkin, who also played through the poke and blow to his eye.... not making excuses but hate to see people ride the team so hard after a tough game...Something has been off with Ian for 2-3 weeks. Brad said he was sick?
Was hoping to be wrong but did expect itU called it perfectly! And we’re now 0-9 at L’ville
Poor coaching tonight when Ian was not getting his fair share of shots inside …. we gotta force the ball inside against teams more vs longe range shooting contests … we settle too easy, and for bad shots at times …. gotta stick to your identity which is own the paint w/ the Chef & LahkinNot gonna win many games if we're only gonna get Ian going with 7 total shots.
i felt that way when i saw the play live and the replays. Chases big mistake was having too much follow through on his otherwise legit good play for the ball. The finish resembled a swat too much to a discerning ref keeping the policy of the rule in front of their mind. Tough break for chase i felt, but thats the way the cookie crumbles...Brad said they might be going too far in the flagrant fouls that are trying to protect players.
He said Clemson benefited from one against Wake Forest and he was skeptical even of that one.
"I guess we're going to treat everybody like the quarterback."
That’s Zackery.we did shut down Hepburn tho
If that’s what you gathered from this thread, bless your heart. You can tell a few guys here have missed being able to bitch and throw shade at the coach.
At some point Brownell has to realize he is going to be the “Dean of ACC coaches”. He has to start absolutely working these refs like K and Smith did. If he doesn’t 20-5 foul discrepancy will happen again; even when Larry Shyatt level talent is long gone.Brad said they might be going too far in the flagrant fouls that are trying to protect players.

I haven’t ridden Ian, once. He’s a warrior and our MVP, but he’s not healthy.he logged prob about 38 hard mins a game for several games in a row, played through a calf injury, and now has played through the flu, as did several guys on the team, including lahkin, who also played through the poke and blow to his eye.... not making excuses but hate to see people ride the team so hard after a tough game...
def looked tired, but we cant allow ourselves to be intimidated by a big time away game environment regardless of our fatigue....It’s not always coach but he will get blamed when his players don’t perform and aren’t ready to play , that is on coach as well to have your team ready and how to defend the other team. We looked like a step slow tonight.
true, i didnt mean to imply you said anything bad about ian....I haven’t ridden Ian, once. He’s a warrior and our MVP, but he’s not healthy.
