We can win a natty next year, similar feelings to 2016 when we had a JR DW4. Just need a few things to happen:
1. RB - Add a portal player
We played freaking Adam Randall at RB in a playoff game (pleasantly surprised), and I was not blown away by EZ, Adams, or Green in the running game. (although Green came up big with a TD reception). Point blank we need to get a RB1 in the portal and a lack of running game is the only thing holding us back on O next year aside from player retention at QB/WR. Haynes looks OK but not a game breaker imo.
Dabo on playing other positions at RB prior to the Texas game:
“Yall must not believe in Keith Adams, Ezumume, and Jarvis Green. Y’all must not believe in them guys. Y’all believed in them in the recruiting process. They were ranked real high. So, they get here and y’all don’t believe in them an!
Man, you played a WR at RB during a playoff game, is it us that does not believe in those three or you?
2. Hire a leader at DC
Wes is a Clemson man but not cut out for the DC job at this stage. Get an experienced (5+ years) play caller and motivator to get the most out of our talent. Defense takes on the personality of the coach and it showed against Texas, SMU (second half) and South Carolina. Im talking Garret Riley splash level hire. Give the fans and recruits something to be excited about.
3. Retention - Pay Cade, Recievers (Williams/Wesco/Moore), and D-line
Simple, pony up to keep the dudes by any means necessary.
