A new name to know for this class
By: Paul Strelow
With the way the dominoes fell during the early signing period, we have reported that Clemson's staff would explore candidates for another receiver take to cap this recruiting class.
Based on intel gathered from multiple sources this week, we would tell you that Rock Hill (S.C.) Northwestern’s Ger-Cari Caldwell has evolved into a name worth closely tracking this cycle.
Caldwell (6-3, 190) has ballooned into a hot commodity over the last month. Since decommitting from East Carolina, he has scored offers from South Carolina, UNC, N.C. State, Tennessee, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Duke.

He took official visits to Wake Forest and Baylor after withdrawing his pledge from the Pirates last month.
South Carolina is set to get an official later this month, although a date has yet to be disclosed. The Gamecocks are the heavy favorite if circumstances don’t change.
Caldwell has one other official visit available for the taking.
We have reported that Clemson does not plan to make any movement on another target until after Monday night’s national championship game against LSU in New Orleans.
We first referenced Caldwell as a potential target Dec. 3, then noted a week ago that Clemson still had yet to reach out when we projected four-star Xzavier Henderson to announce for Florida.
Clemson and other college coaches won’t be permitted to visit Caldwell until the NCAA’s contact period kicks off again next weekend ahead of on-campus visits.
We expect Caldwell to get bumped to three stars in the final Rivals.com rankings based on his stock and senior season film.
